If they don't like the cold weather then remind them that once they trun 18 then they are adults and can live wherever they choose to.

What a great way to have your first Thanksgiving back in the states. I use just ziplock bags to cook things in hot water. You can flatten it out but then open it to put air in.

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada! We too had all the traditional food - turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, turnip and gravy. Green beans is not a big tradition here (at least not in our family) but looks good! Topped off with Pumpkin and Apple pie with whipped cream from Costco LOL! Yummy! Leftovers are the best too. Loved your video, thank you!

Thanks for sharing this with us, very cool video. It brought up a memory when I was a kid in AK it snowed too much too early, the trees had leaves still on, and the snow weighed them down and took out so many power lines. The power was out for many weeks and we made a lasagna on the wood stove for Thanksgiving. It was hard times but those make for really sweet memories.

We went through a lot of times with no power or frozen propane when mom had to improvise. You are there for your kids like that too. Hi Family, I can Attest that in NJ we had Sweet Potato Casserole with marshmellows. Acc to wikipedia it was first proposed by the Angelus Marshmellow Co. in 1917. I see that it's popular in the American South, Indiana and you said it's big in the midwest. by now I believe you can find it most places in the US. Thanks for the visit. the key for making biscuits on woodstove is use two frying pans and a three rocks for the pan to sit on . one pan to cook and the other as a lid to keep the heat in. but if you had a burner rack off a gas stove would be even better..
