They need to outlaw open fried propane cooked turkeys. Yes, they taste amazing... But frying a turkey in a giant vat of oil, over an open propane burner, is probably the dumbest thing in Human history. You can make the same tender turkey by just slow cooking it, or using a lot of oil and butter in the cook pan. You don't need to risk a huge explosion of peanut oil with a large open flame burner. Haha.

My Mexican mom lathers up our bird with her special seasoning, butter, olive oil and throws that bieeetch in the oven until it's golden brown. It's always fire, never been dry or bland in our household. Our thanksgiving usually consists of: Baked Turkey Beef, chicken & veggie stuffing Mashed potatoes & gravy Mexican potato salad Macaroni salad Refried chorizo beans Mexican rice Green beans w/ bacon bits Bread rolls / dinner rolls Pumpkin pie Pan dulce / mexican bread Scratch-made cookies Coke, iced tea, wine or beer 👌

Ariel did a great job in his interview asking about why Don Davis wanted to get into MMA and if he believes the PFL product needs an MMA-savvy face to be successful -- I did not find his answers very encouraging. I have a lot of respect for what they are trying to do but tbh I don't think they really understand the sport as well as they need to. You're not going to turn MMA into Premier League, and while I understand his desire to put on a face of being the 'transparent, meritocratic' promoter, that's not going to work forever. This sport is basically a red light carnival, and if boxing couldn't elevate itself above that after 150 years (and being one of the most popular sports on the planet for a time) then MMA has no shot.

Luke, BC, this is what you MUST do. Fry the turkey, and fry it indoors. Yep, that's what I do. No more sitting outside in the cold frying the bird while your ass freeze"s. It sounds dangerous and stupid. This is why BC must listen closely. Some years back I bought a Butterball indoor electric turkey fryer. The only oil that you should ever use is peanut oil. It has all the directions for you too. Cleanup is easy to. There's a spout on the bottom where you can open and put the oil back in the peanut oil container. The parts are dish washer safe. Tony Chachere's creole seasoning original & injectable is what we use. A 15lb bird takes about 45 minutes. It's about 3.0-3.5 minutes per lb. The entire house smells like the bird. It also has a timer so you can't forget, unless you're as dumb as a rock. It beats siting in the cold at 10-11 am. We just put the fryer on our bar and that's it. What Luke is describing sounds a lot like pulled pork. You roast the pork for hours. I don't know how to cook it, but I eat it if you know what I mean.

Now your plan sounds like a really smart way to do it. And I was just commenting above that they need to outlaw deep frying frozen turkeys in giant open flame burner kettles full to the top with gallons of hot boiling peanut oil. The idea of dropping a frozen ball of ice into a giant boiling vat of scalding lava peanut oil, where there is a large open flame burner below it, is the dumbest thing ever... Use an electric boiler (good idea) with a built in thermostat and a sealed lid on it to prevent hot boiling oil shooting everywhere. Also, NO open flame with boiling oil.

LTs soap boxing around PFL and Bellator has never been more wrong and short sighted. Of course they will fold/absorb Bellator eventually, my guess is between 18 and 24 months. But they have allot to do before they can do that, just closing it straight away is the wrong way to do it for a hundred reasons. And PFLs main long term strategy is clearly to grow by gaining new fans in new markets and hope that eventually there will be a clear arguement on who has the best fighters to grow in UFCs mature markets. My guess would be 10yrs but they are likely hoping for 5yrs. So the issue becomes how do they minimise loses and keep investment up while they attack the roadmap they are laying out.

PFLator needs to focus on more immediate challenges than the UFC, for instance building their brand & market or running the org/promotion smoothly & profitably.
