At least those were the rules in the comics who knows what the MCU's rules are.

@@tomasgaming703 Time Stone has no effect on someone wielding either a Power or Reality Stone for the same reason that Time Stone has no effect on it's own wielder, Thanos doesn't have to "use" it to counter the effect of the Time Stone, which is probably the main reason why the Russos never brought up this obvious path. Exactly, I presume the main reason why this was the only option is because whether he had the gauntlet or not, he would have still killed Stark had Strange not given up the stone. And in the futures he saw, a fighting force without Stark wouldn't be able to stand toe-to-toe with Thanos.

I imagine every scenario where Strange brings the Time stone into the fight leads to Thanos countering it and snatching it.Thanos doesn't need to defeat everyone on Titan. He just needs the stone and if Strange was blatantly showcasing it, that might convince Thanos to try harder and actually go for kills.

My problem with this video is that Thanos is incredibly powerful even without the gauntlet. He's stronger than both Hulk and Thor, and took them both out with no problems. If they had successfully gotten off the gauntlet, then Thanos would have just been pissed off, and go on a rampage killing them all. Then takes the gauntlet back.

Jayden and christianrapper - The writers of Infinity war gave a video interview about the film. I highly suggest you check it out. In the video they say Thanos didn't need the Power Stone to take out the Hulk and Thor. He's far above them in strength. Then the writers say if the Avengers/Gotg got the gauntlet off Thanos, then they would just made Thanos mad and he would have killed them all with no mercy. Only beings of immense strength can use the Infinity Gauntlet. It's was too powerful for the Avengers team on Titan to use for themselves.

It doesn’t matter how angry thanos gets because they can just turn him into bubbles, trap him in dormamu’s world, turn him into a slinky, or just outright kill him. This isn’t the comics. The avengers kill people all the time.
