That line would be good, If it was true. The point that darkseid made is: "You can't kill evil" and darkseid is evil, it's not like when you have someone who is evil, he is the concept of evil it self and to kill darkseid is to remove evil from the entire multiverse including all other non DC universes, because darkseid present everywhere where evil is. Infinity gautlet is infinite only in Thanoses dimension so he can't kill a concept. Btw, DC has it's death too and death in DC is concept like darkseid and they exist on the same plane of existance and not even she can kill him. And it's said that when first living thing suck in it's first breath, death was here and once the last living thing dies she will put the chairs up on the table and lock up the universe when she leaves, which means she will be the last thing to exist. You compare apples and pears... Darkseid is, Thanos isn't.

Thanos doesn't actually need to Gauntlet though. He is currently more power than he was when he first possessed it, hence his ability to kill The Living Tribunal who is powerful enough to take the Gauntlet from someone by force if he wishes.

Unfortunately, the actual fight is completely one sided, DC just makes characters completely overpowered, Marvel just doesn't make characters to that level, even Marvel's "gods" wouldn't stand up to DC's weaker gods. I get, both have made characters that people around the world look up too, but DC characters just overall wipe the floor with Marvel. The two universes just aren't really compatible with each other.
