You cannot just compare Steppenwolf with Thanos.
@davesteller63015 жыл бұрын
One other thing to think about. Thanos was set up over several years and several movies. Steppenwolf was just thrown in at the last minute. We had years to develop hate for Thanos. We didn't even know who steppenwolf was, other than that Born to be Wild song.

CyanAnn Ah thank you so much! Totally agree there is a ton of room for improvement! Can’t wait to learn more and get better. But hey, we all gotta start somewhere! But seriously thanks so much for the feedback.

The DCCU is at somewhat of a disadvantage, when compared to the MCU: The characters of Batman & Superman both have long cinematic histories, going back decades, and associated with other actors. This has created a lack of continuity as to which actor, and which version of which character, is the audience supposed to associate to which role? For example, when people see Ben Affleck, they will automatically compare him to Christian Bale, and even Michael Keaton! And then they will also need to remind themselves that these latest films do not even follow the continuity of either those earlier franchises! This itself is a big hole to dig out of. And that is even leaving aside all the issues that C.F. raised in her review. WB should have brought in the crew from, ‘ Batman: The Animated Series ‘: Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Curt Geda, Etc., and let them work their magic here.

I could never even remember the same after looking it up 10 times. I just kept calling him “that guy wearing Surtur’s crown from Ragnarok.” Although we know that wasn’t his crown because Steppenwolf wouldn’t have stood a chance.

One thing that drastically sets Thanos apart from other villains is his role in Infinity War: He is the protagonist. Thanos is a self-proclaimed hero with a seemingly impossible mission to save the universe. He's willing to face the most powerful beings the universe has to offer, even gods. But that doesn't deter him. Thanos fights impossible odds for what he truly believes is right. And he wins; he doesn't completely defeat the Avengers, but he overcomes their efforts to stop him. He saves the universe and gets to enjoy a beautiful sunset after a job well-done. Thanos is the hero of his story, and that's why he's such a good villain.

Lots of great points!! I plan on creating a story for a future game and I'd like to figure out what's the best way to write any potential villains in the story.
@adambump52974 жыл бұрын
When writing these kinds of stories what's important to remember is not what makes these Characters Super it's what makes them Heroes/Villains. Their powers is all secondary what's matters the most is personality and motivation.

We live in a world where a movie like shazam tops justice league the avengers. Movie that shouldnt ever be toped by another solo movie thats connected in its own franchise

Definitley agree for the most part. Personally I enjoyed Steppenwolf and thought that his goals/motivations were clear with how he was wanting to to return home to Apokolips. He was neutered though by WB's decision to cut out Darkseid and seemingly cut out much of Steppenwolf's scenes. They seemed to have just left in his "villain talk" scenes. Hopefully in Ava DuVernay's New Gods they can make Steppenwolf more compelling to the GA if they have him in there. Thanos on the other hand was fantastic while Steppenwolf was "undercooked".

Steppenwolf was as a shit villain and I did not enjoy him (personal opinion). We don't even know what are the boxes and is Darkseid his "mother" and if not who is "mother"!? Also seeing someone saying "mother" 500 times, tells me that Steppenwolf is a child. The fact that Sups can solo him and Doomsday was a better challenge for the DC heroes ( Doomsday was just a super cave troll ) does not help at all :)

Good video. Justice league was a complete mess and I may be wrong but I don't think the movie explained anything about Steppenwolf. All he did was run around talking about "this is for mother!" So I guess he's just a deranged mommas boy lol Idk. Also thanos looks way more badass than Steppenwolf despite the nutsack of a chin.
