I found your comments about the KT88's spot on when I added to my Willsenton R8.
@mcgjohn222 ай бұрын
thanks for posting the video. some of the PSVANEs do sound really good. The biggest issue I have with them (have gone through 6 quads) is their reliability. Some will do well, while others die within a few months and that is with tube amps that use B+ voltages below 475. If you run them in an amp with near spec B+ plate voltages they will exhibit a very high failure rate compared to the Russian KT88s.

Thanks for the feedback, I haven't experienced that personally yet.

The most "under the radar" Integrated Amp around. I tube rolled with reissue Gold Lion KT-88's, Mullard NOS 5AR4/GZ34, and NOS Baldwin/Sylvania 12AU7 & NOS GE 12AX7. Just amazing!

I completely agree with all the owners says: it's an incredible tube amp. No other amps in this price range can compete with the Muzishare X7-none. I know what I'm writing about because I've owned my X7 for several years (re-tubed with a special selection of JJ Tubes all made in Europe), and believe me, I never tire of this tube amp! Simply astonishing...

After comparing the sound demos, I agree with your assessments. With JBL loudspeakers the PH 12AU7 provide too much brilliance. In any case, I think that many more hours should pass before judging the long break-in time required by the valves. I am waiting for some opinions on the PH 12AT7 before buying a matched pair for my hybrid integrated (modified by me), to replace the JJ 12AT7 (these days I have improved the sound of the tubes, which were too dark, via rePhase, creating a convolution file +0.3 dB, 6.5kHz, Q=2).

I have many years of experience with top lines Psvane tubes and they have always given me this impression: a clearer, more dynamic, more real sound. I really want to use their KT150s, but I haven't had any feedback on them yet. I suppose they even sound better than the Tung Sols, but what about their durability? That is still a mystery to me.

Thinking of buying the X7 for my 88db Wharfedale Aura 2 speakers. I assume the X7 would be a better match for these speakers over the X9. Do you find the Ray tubes much better than the PSVANEs? In an old review of the X7 by Skunkie, she mentions a tube combo of Electroharmonics, Gold Lions, and PSVANES. Wondering if I should try those or go all Ray tubes. Thank you!

Does the Muzishare X7 also work with EL34 or KT120 tubes?

So in the end which tube combo did you choose as a final setup?

That's a beautiful piece, I almost bought one yesterday but I don't know how it would sound for the music I listen to sometimes, like electronic, rock and metal.
@Tharbamar5 ай бұрын
That's more of depending on the speaker if you have 90db+ sensitive speakers you'll be surprise, even with 84db sensitive LS50 can sound great in average size rooms playing up to 90db peaks SPL.

@@Tharbamar thanks it's a beautiful machine, especially for the money. There's so many options out right now. I was also thinking about the toping mono blocks you just reviewed. My speakers are 90 db and I have others 92 so I should be good. I appreciate it and love your channel!!!

@@Tharbamar do you think the psvane horzion kt 88 are better then the ray select kt 88 tubes?

stocks are really harsh. kt88s can be bright vs el34s.

Which do you prefer at this point? Upgraded X7 or the stock X9? How much peak Db are you missing? Would love a video comparing them side by side. I was set on the X7, but you seemed so hot in the X9!

You’ve gotta give these tubes at least, 10 days before you begin to hear the beauty of tubes. Then, you think, these will sound better?

I've been using them for almost two months.

I think PSVane needs to make a darker, possibly blue colored 12au7. I’m a big fan of Sophie Electric’s new Aqua II 274B for my xDuoo TA30. You really need to use pure silver cables to come close to holography as you can get.
