Can't believe men can be released on "good behavior" after being convicted of hurting children and or women. It's like of course he behaved well, there weren't any women or children nearby for him to hurt.

It boggles the mind that people with non-violent crimes are sentenced longer than violent offenders. The Rockefeller Law must be revised. My friend’s Uncle was jailed for writing bad checks and didn’t survive after being attacked and SA’d while serving his sentence. Basically given a death sentence for writing bad checks. They’re now building more private prisons for profit in America; the highest incarceration rate of all countries.

We all love stories...and most of us love a scary story that's "safe." It's all part of that odd phenomenon of feeling comforted by the tales of true crime. Mr. Ballen's voice is perfect for telling these tales.

I appreciate & like the lengthy pauses so soò much ❤😊❤; they create this amazing suspenseful interlude & a great opportunity for one to process & reflect on what has already been narrated ... wow❤😊❤; that is a unique & a profound strategy of storytelling; keep those 'pauses' coming ❤❤❤❤❤ ... The state is responsible for that other poor woman's death after Mary but by letting this bottom feeder out of jail I mean how do you let him out of jail when he leans over in front of the police and tell her I will finish the job if it takes me the rest of my life.

In the last story, I remember this one. Lawrence never should have gotten out of prison. If the Justice system had done it's job the first time, that other woman never had needed to be murdered. Here's a question: Why do evil people who do evil things get away with murder and blame other people for the crimes they committed? Why are there innocent people in prison for a crimes they didn't commit?

43:37 Around this time in the early 80s, the word hadn't fully gotten around that women should NEVER hitchhike alone or hitchhike at all and accept rides from strangers. But after the news of so many murders of hitchhiking women in the 70s & 80s began to emerge and esp after Ted Bundy...who would lure women into his VW Bug with no door handles on the passenger side ....hitchhiking women became a rarity. (Plus on most interstates it's illegal to hitchhike.)

Did Larry Singleton serve in the military and fight in battle? Did he learn to enjoy killing that way? Did he come back to a society that ignored him? How did he become such a sick person? I have know vets that think nothing of killing.
