Daniel Penny had every right to defend himself and every passenger on that train. It wasn't racist, Blacks testified that they were afraid of Neely and praised Penny form his actions.

Amazing that a NYC court actually sided with law abiding citizens defending themselves.

No it didn’t when the black guy Jordan Williams got convicted for defending himself on the train

Slight clarification: the court (really, the DA) did NOT side as such -- but the jury did.

@@CITYOFSHOOTERS What? Jordan Williams was NOT charged at all, which made Penny's charges even more insane.

Mr. Penny did not engage in an act of ‘vigilante justice’. He didn’t go out looking for trouble or to right some wrong. He was just going about his day when a societal problem landed at his feet and he DID THE RIGHT THING as a citizen for all those around. Mislabeling his behavior as ‘vigilante justice’ is a descipable choice of editorializing WSJ.

In your video Daniel Penny quotes Neely as telling the passengers, among other things, "I'm gonna kill you." While media reports have him saying " I don't care if I die." nowhere have I heard or read a mention of the former, specific threat. If in fact it was made, its omission in the news coverage is particularly disturbing as we are getting a selectively edited version of the facts.

When I was in the Air Force we got sent to a lot of places around the world. When we saw marines around the perimeter we knew we’d be going home. Daniel Perry is the kinda guy I’d want out there, or in a passenger car.
