Current budget deficit has not been cut by a quarter. The drop in public sector borrowing was achieved by cutting net investment, saying they have cut the deficit by a quarter is a slight of hand trick misrepresenting reality. In the last financial year, the current deficit fell by only about one thirtieth. The current budget deficit is also now going up.

David Cameron would smile at you and shake your hand if he met you, but he would loathe being you for a day. If he had to live your life he would either kill whomever he has to to rise to his former position, or he would sink into despair and self-loathing. David Cameron and people of his ilk live for power and despise anyone who doesn't have it. This is why they need training to look remotely at ease around normal people. He has no empathy or understanding for those who aren't big players.

I have to agree with Cameron on this. The whole 'legalise drugs because if you want them you can get them anyway' argument can be applied to a range of different other scenarios. I wonder who would agree with the following: - legalise guns because you can get them if you really want them - dissolve a legal drinking age because every man and his dog are getting drunk these days - remove age certifications on DVDs and video games with adult content because everyone ends up playing them anyhow The whole 'if you want it you can get it' argument for legalising anything is stupid and irresponsible. The only problem it removes is the fact that someone is doing them illegally, whilst presenting a whole new set of problems for society, not least massively increased usage. And whatever you say, going to the black market to get drugs is a lot more difficult than picking them off a shelf at a store.
@chrisduck64439 жыл бұрын
GoldenbanjoDJ the difference is that the things you mentioned are legal and regulated. drugs are illegal and unregulated. if they were to be legalized and regulated there would be more control over procedures in place to manage the qualities, age regulations and such.

Its been 2 years and what have the tories done nothing to do with demand or economic growth all it is with them is raising taxes, fees and anything they can. Remember before conservative Labour had been the dominant party for 13 years and for a reason, people who didn't know anything about politics just panicked and blamed Labour

The ability to write effectively and construct an argument succinctly at degree level are very transferrable skills in employment, I'd wager. Traditionally an academic degree was attained as a measure of a student's discipline and intelligence. The training of the mind. Hence why subjects are refereed to as 'disciplines.' The subject isn't necessarily important, I'll grant you, but the intelligence and discipline required to study at degree level is an excellent measure of a person's ability.

The BBC was OK with everything. As was Jonathan Ross's people as were Cameron's people. The BBC only edited the video after transmission. I am not a prude and accept that in a recorded interview you can go over the top to build a rapport and edit it out afterwards. Larry King said that interviewers need to be 'dangerous'. I thought the two questions in this one to be in extremely bad taste. It's not the question but the context.

It's no lie that the tories are better for the economy than labour, but there isn't really a massive difference nowadays. There's always going to be economic ups and downs, there's never a constant. I don't trust any of the 3 major parties to lead this country effectively, they've all screwed us over at some point, but it's true that the tories are the best of the 3 to lead us right now.

Stealing is when one takes something from someone and they are left without anything. And that's not my point. My point is that there is a dictatorship and you ca't deny that. I have the right to access whatever website I want and so do you. I still access TPB without a problem anyway, but the point is that most people don't know how to do it. And banning people from doing what they want is dictatorship.

I uploaded this to Google Video in June 2006 after the BBC disclaimed ownership and therefore copyright of it. There was criticism at the time so the BBC put an abridged version on their website and asked "what is the fuss about"? They have banned repeat showings of the full interview and my shorter video "The Difference File" contains only the censored material. "That story in full" artefact is borrowed from Private Eye who probably took it from a real newspaper style.

Ugh, when will people forget about the old Conservatives? Yes, 2/3's of there party is in it for money and Cameron is from a well off background, but in his talks at TED and other places he always shows a very clever attitude to politics, something Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, or any other labour leader has given us. He has a charismatic understanding on the revolutions in economics and social standing, and he is brave enough to come from this background and work for the better.

I cannot agree with Jonathan here because legalizing drugs will make them much much more available, then just like smoking and alcohol, more kids will want to try them. We have got to a point in time where anything readily available, we believe it must be okay to try. As Jonathan stated " A certain element of the population" ; not all! You can get anything that the shop sell at anytime of the day, whereas your drug dealers will probably be in bed until they answer your call. If you legalize them, then you will find, more addiction, more problems and everyone dying young.

It's that attitude that may condemn us to 10 years of stagnation. Look just because Ed Milliband is not rude and borish does not mean he will be a rubbish PM. They have been in for 2 years and can't keep on blaming Labour for everything.
