And, tonight, Cale Makar and the AVS are Stanley Cup Champions !!!! Also tonight, Cale, won the Conns Smythe Trophy, meaning he was the mvp of the playoffs. A few nights ago, he won the Norris trophy, meaning he was the best defenceman in the league this year.

Im watching this after the Avs just won the Stanley Cup!!!!!!!! But as of tonight, Cale Makar is the first and only player to win the hobey baker award which is for the best collegiate hockey player, the calder trophy which is for rookie of the year in the nhl, the norris trophy for the best defenseman in the league, the conn smythe for the MVP of the playoffs, and now the Stanley Cup. And he did it all in only 3 years at the age of 23!! And he won the last three all within the last couple weeks!! Cale Makar is a monster and will go down in history of one of the all time best players, let alone defensemen! He's absolutely insane!

I’m glad you gravitated a little towards hockey the systems in hockey and basketball are similar the basic triangle in basketball and hockey are the same you try to isolate and try to create a 2on1 the main difference is the physicality is around the puck whereas basketball it tends to be more away from the ball !

Some great goalies to check out, Patrick Roy (Wa) it's french, Dominik Hasek, Martin Brodeur, 3 of the greatest to play the game. Other great goalies to check out would be Grant Fuhr, Ed Belfour, Henrik Lundqvist, Curtis Joseph, Jonathon Quick, Roberto Luongo, Igor Shesterkin, Andrei Vasilevskiy... Just to name a few lol. Highly recommend Roy and Hasek at the very least.

Makar is 23. Cale came into the league at 20. won the cup this year. Got playoff MVP. The first highlight here is Makar's first goal, in his first game, in the playoffs. Everyone was saying he was too soft at the beginning of this year and that he wasn't solid defensively. So he went out, made tons of hits, and won the Norris trophy (best defenseman in the league). He and MacKinnon are MONSTERS.

Makar's career thus far: Won the Calder (Rookie of the Year) This season: Won Norris (Defenseman of the year) Won Conn Smythe (playoffs MVP) Won the Stanley Cup with my Colorado Avalanche. Oh, and he's only 23 years old. He hasn't even scratched the surface of his potential. I can't even imagine what his ceiling will look like. It's crazy because MacKinnon is a top 3 player in the league, but he is honestly only the 2nd best player on the team behind Makar.

The thing that makes coast-to-coast goals so difficult and amazing is you start at your own defensive end, meaning you're literally taking on 5 of their guys. So when he just coasted past them all, nutty. Makar is a pleasure to watch for an offensive defenseman. Probably too much overlap to react to, but the thing that makes Makar so special is his edgework (lateral movement rather than straight-line speed). Can see that on the goal you got out of your seat at where he pivots and pulls away from Dach.
