My dad was in the military and worked as a FAO, (Foreign Area Officer) so I went to a Dodea school in Italy. Since the school was on a military base, and every in there had conections with military, the JROTC was pretty big. No one there was like this, but I guess they must've been like this in the states 😆. Also Stuttgart's JROTC had double the amount of kids in our entire school.

In Freshman year I was stuck in Chorus class with some goober kind of like this. On the day of the concert, I wore some of my Dad’s army pins on my dress shirt. It wasn’t anything cool, just like his 2nd Lieutenant Rank pin (lowest Officer rank in the army,) and his Adjutant General Corps pin (like Army HR.) anyway, 15 year old me is walking around like, with my dorky ass pins, and this kid yells at me: “TAKE THOSE FUCKING PINS OFF!” “Uh, why?” “YOU WEREN’T IN THE MILITARY! PEOPLE MIGHT CONFUSE YOU FOR BEING IN THE MILITARY!” So, I took those pins off to appease this Stolen-valor exposing wannabe. But before the show, I put the pins back on my shirt. Moral of the story: That kid is weird.
