What exactly does leitmotiff mean?
@hugocastilla3102 Жыл бұрын
@@trentoninnewjersey a leitmotiff is a musical piece asociated to something, a character, a place, a situation, etc. For example, for the original Spider-Man trilogy there was the Spider-Man Theme that represents the saga. But there's also the Responsability Theme, a leitmotiff that is asociated to emotional moments or when Peter faces the choices of a hero. In this case, Super Mario Galaxy has it's theme. But the duology itself is represented mostly by the Gusty Garden Theme. That's why I called it the Mario Galaxy leitmotiff

Gusty Garden Galaxy in reality is a random not too special level from the tail end of the game. It serves no large story or gameplay purpose. It’s not the triumphant end of the game, nor the climax or beginning, it’s just a plant level. Yet it’s melody existing even in the same game’s credits is proof that Nintendo knew even before we did that this would become one of the most beloved pieces of videogame music in existence

The Buoy Base Galaxy theme is similar in that it's an amazing piece of music that is confined, in its original game, to a largely insignificant level. I will never get tired of Gusty Garden’s theme in Mario games or movies or anything, it’s the most beautiful piece of music in gaming I’ve ever heard and glad Nintendo shows it this much love

The frigging drums that Sega added in the Mario and Sonic version of the song is everything to me. It changes the song from one of those songs that sounds really good but i never really think about, to a song that i could listen to for years into the future.

While the drums are good, the VST instruments are big downgrade and unfortunately drag the song down overall.

Still love that we all agree that this is the best of gusty garden

You forgot Good Egg Galaxy, it also has the same motif as Gusty Garden

Pretty solid list, if you ever redo it, though, Good Egg* Galaxy features this part, and they also snuck it into Mario Kart Wii’s Rainbow Road just over 20 seconds in on the strings in the background.

This video alone is a proof that this is one of Nintendo's best musical pieces ever composed to the point they reused it from how good it is. This is a masterpiece

Cloud top cruise is the best one imo. edit: nvm I just heard the transition from gusty to the motif of the Mario movie.

Despite after 100% Mario galaxy 1, this makes me wanna play it back

you should play galaxy 2, harder levels

I love how it went from being the music for some random level in the middle of SMG, to being THE Mario theme of the recent era (last 20 years).

The Level Complete Version is so well composed and brings a lot of nostalgia in only a few motifs. Props to Brian Tyler!
@gregoryballinger3455 Жыл бұрын
Well composed??? He didn’t compose it. And it has no countermelodies or rhythms. It’s one of the plainest versions of the motif. People are confusing it as some great rendition of it simply becuase it was in the movie. The original and what was in Galaxy 2 are far better and fuller versions.

@@gregoryballinger3455 Brian Tyler composed the Level Complete version. And it was a good rendition, he didn't copy and paste it. He used the same motifs, but made a different version of it. And I respect if you was Galaxy 2 is better, that's your opinion.

I still remember the day I first played gusty garden galaxy in 2007. It was incredible, the way you hopped from planet to planet with the flowers. And paired with the music, it was easily one of the best levels in Mario history
