Forgive me if already commented: The lighted controls are quite helpful. It appeals to me due to my aging eyes. Even in my younger days stage lighting made it difficult to differentiate knob position. LEDs are more prone to washing out the knob mark. Thanks Fender for lighting the knobs!

While we're making requests, I'd love to see Justin Sandercoe. I don't know how much of a huge pedal guy he is, but he's got some sweet guitars, probably some interesting thoughts on pedals and beginners/students, he wore an all you need is fuzz shirt in one of his videos, and he's a huge KZbin guitar figure, one of the pillars (like you guys).

The Princeton! Nice to finally hear you guys do a show through one! Thanks! They take pedals, sure. But a Princeton by itself is just great sounding. I put a Celestion Gold in mine. What a cool selection of pedals, and if I remember correctly, at a pretty damn good price point too. I predict a win for Fender here :) Looking forward to hearing you put the Princeton through it's paces too. Had a '65 Reverb Reissue for a few years now, and while it's still a little loud to get it breaking up much at home, it's just right at 3-4 on the vol for some really nice spanky cleans with my strat! I do often find that running the vol as high as I can get away with helps with some drives that might sound a bit bright with the amp at lower volumes, so it'll be interesting to see what you can get out of it. Recently got an El Capistan and a Way Huge (Geisha) drive, both based a large part on what I've seen on TPS, and Strat -> WH drive -> El Cap -> Princeton is currently heaven!

I was very impressed with Fender’s new offerings, in particular the Bends, Santa Ana OD, and the Marine Layer (my goal reverb stomp is the Strymon Blue Sky, but that’s a longer explanation - too many great pedals are out now). On a related subject to ALL your shows, cables. I’ve had trouble with consistency lately and am looking at (gigging, not studio) guitar and patch cables. Looking hard at Monster and Planet Waves. Thoughts? What do you guys use or prefer? Reliability and cost are my main criteria, in that order.

I love the Princeton Reverb. I've owned a reissue and an original 1971 Silverface. I still have the Silverface. The reissue is very nice, but the original is just unbeatable. I'm not sure if it's the original's pine cabinet or the fact that it has vintage tubes, but it just sings much sweeter. A 12" speaker is a really nice pairing with these amps, too.

It was my first impression when you were playing thru it. It has a bit of that top end Klon "squishy-ness", sound , if that makes sense. More so than say a KOT or a KTR or an Archer pedal. I like this one alot because it's more versatile than an Archer or KTR, and it's different than a KOT. Although I love my KOT. I have been searching for something Klon ish to add in for some different sounds and I think this one is going to be my next purchase. Cheers!

Another great show. I was a bit suspicious about these pedals but now I’m a believer. Nice. Suggestion: I’ve noticed that when you highlight a brand of pedals and the board is populated with only one specific brand there’s a difference of how they play with each other compared to when multiple brands of the same kind of pedal are highlighted. This may only be in my head but more shows with one brand might be nice. What does an all tc electronic or stryman or whatever...so a one brand gigging board. Love the show!!

Mick's correct: If all compartment signal wires are individually earthed (signal + the braided earth) plus the earth rail is installed properly (et al), one never has the need for shielding. As far as I'm concerned, compartment shielding is a one-size fits all approach that is more for convenience that it is for necessity.

Good stuff guys. Thank-you. You have remained objective and genuinely enthusiastic about normal people's budget pedals. I'm delighted that you haven't completely gone all Top Gear, even when sponsored. More of the same please when you get back to home turf.
@ThatPedalShow6 жыл бұрын
+jasfiona hi, Dan here, just so you know, this is not sponsored, Fender asked me to build this board specifically for their artist showroom, I thought the pedals were interesting enough to look at, and and excuse to show everyone a bit of the artist showroom. We have never taken a penny from manufactures and never will
@jasfiona6 жыл бұрын
That Pedal Show Thanks for clearing that up Dan. Can you build me a pedal board for free next year? I'm waiting for a little bonus to buy my last pedal. It's taken since 2012 to save up for it. I had hoped you wouldn't hone in on my naughty tongue in cheek comment and give your reassurance that you hadn't forgotten normal musician's needs
@ThatPedalShow6 жыл бұрын
Jas, Mick here. I’m interested in the ‘sponsored’ thing. For example, what are your fave KZbin channels and do you think those guys are paid or they do it for free? Genuinely fascinated.... here’s our position, by the way... www.thatpedalshow.com/partners
@jasfiona6 жыл бұрын
That Pedal Show Hi Mick. It was an assumption, of course. Everyone should be paid for what they do, like you said. It was based on the clues, so No.1 You're on Fender owned, (or rented) premises, in a showroom, playing and promoting Fender gear. No.2. The GigRig is a business. So is That Pedal Show. Why would anyone do that completely for free? Dan said he didn't get a penny for it. Maybe you got goodies instead, I don't know. I just put two and two together. I don't think it was unreasonable. The video you made a year or so ago, mainly from your house, which explains how much work goes into making the video was a real eye opener for me and it has been a privilege being part of your success story. I've bought your T-Shirt. Have you sold 60,000 or so? I doubt it, but I believe in you. Just because I have spent the money, I cannot demand a bigger opinion than someone who just watches for free. My opinion doesn't really count for that much, but I'm entitled to it. I don't feel that I'm being rude and I'm not trying to discourage you. You probably don't care that much either way about my comments, but you are annoyed about one thing. Like I said to Dan, why are you focusing on one word? My main point was the 'Top Gear' comparison. The majority of gigging musicians don't play the type of gear that you usually demo. Pedal boards can have beer spilt on them and guitars can get knocked over. One gig I went to, I saw Jamie Moses, who's a proper professional, and he's got normal pedals, one amp and he's proper good. Don't get me wrong, it's all very interesting and many of the things you explain are very useful and helpful. For example, how many guitarists take a wet, dry, wet set-up? There are professionals that probably could, or are considering it, but probably just for recording, and how many semi-pros have the space on a shared stage, or the time between the various bands, or would take their 'best' gear in pubs?
