I just loved this video! 💖 And even though I often work with horses it still sometimes surprises me the simple things that can scare them...like opening an envelope! And its well known how curious they all are! And that scene near the beginning with Rising Star and Skors! They look so alike! 💖 and it was good to see Skors out in the pasture with the other horses too. They all need to be outside.

In English, one of the knitting stitches is called "purl." So maybe Purl is a good name? Sounds the same as Pearl, the gem. Black pearls are the rarest, most expensive, most elegant kind of gem. So Black Purl would be the most elegant knitted Friesian Horse! :)

I admire Ula!! That lovely mascot is a little jewel indeed! Amigurumi : "Knitted stuffed toy" in Japanese, is TRUE ART ! From 1603-1867 Japan traded with the Dutch and it`s believed it was then when crocheting and knitting were introduced. Then, japanese artists came up with the complex art of creating little animals and other items. Training in Amigurumi takes 2-3 months of daily constant crocheting with "teachers" to guide you. (Knitting takes more, and not all apprentices get it right). I myself started with crocheting, knitting, weaving and yarns since childhood, and love them, but around 50 yrs later, when I tried to make a simple ball...it took me 5 days "9 to 5 hrs" and I got something like a...(leniently) rugby balloon? ...and the clear idea that I will never try it again!

Wow, Uniek is a very protective mother, which is very good when your only 4 weeks old but hopefully she will ease up a bit and let Risy have some friends as he gets older! She did not recognize that sound, at least as a sound she is not used to hearing out side, as I have seen you open other envelopes with her 9in the stable and she has hardly blinked but they do become used to sounds in one place that if they hear them in another and they never heard you open one outside like that it could be scary. Of course she may have jumped and run more cause her baby was frightened and she was going to stay right beside him. Uniek is such an excellent mother to Risy, sometimes foster moms are not as protective of a foster as they are of one they gave birth to but if you did not tell anyone that he was her foster it would be impossible to for them to pick up on the fact that she did not give birth to him, at least by her behavior. She is so close to him and he is to her I wonder if it will be traumatic to them when it comes time to wean Rising Star. The little Friesian Horse doll is so adorable, I wonder where she found a knitting pattern for it, now my daughter wants one too! She really enjoyed seeing you put the doll on the horses heads and backs.
