8:28 Small detail but I love how they refer to Zeus as the god of hospitality. Like, everyone knows about Zeus being the god of thunder and lightning, him being the king of the gods and therefore representing order but I don't see many of his interpretations highlight how he is also the god of hospitality which was a major thing to respect in ancient Greece. So, props to the writers for including that.

The Greek gods are basically amalgams of various gods over Millenia, along with new attributes added. Most gods are like this, so their mythology can get messy, contradictory, and have dominions over seemingly random things as they were brought together. It does help to differentiate classical mythologies from "false lore" of modern fantasy writers who tend to try and keep their cosmos nice and tidy. Like Poseidon is also the god of horses, and Ares god of uncles. You seldom see this in modern fantasy, you don't get a mighty sea god also being a god of birch trees or something too often.

Hi, hello, Greek Mythology nut here. 1. Ithaquack is named after Ithaca, the port city-state of Greek myth that the hero Odysseus (of *The Odyssey*) is the king of. The whole plot of The Odyssey is Odysseus trying to get home from the Trojan War. 2. Storkules is indeed the Ducktales ver of Hercules (Herakles in Greek; Hercules is the Roman name). 3. Zeus does indeed control all storms, but tends to stay out of the ocean storm business cause that’s Poseidon’s domain. 4. Zeus is also the god of hospitality like is said in the episode; a very forgotten aspect of Zeus’ domain, hospitality was a very important aspect in Greek culture. One famous myth of a mortal being punished by the gods for being a bad host is King Sisyphus (yes, the boulder guy), who would make a habit of killing his guests. 5. Selene is not only a goddess of the moon, she was the one before Artemis took over when transitioning from Greek to Roman myth. 6. The giant sea monster in the temple guarding the “Spear of Poseidon” (which would probably be a trident) is Charybdis, a sea monster from The Odyssey, and a daughter of Poseidon. 7. The Golden Fleece is from the myth of Jason and the Argonauts, titled “The Argonautica.” It’s the plot point that has Jason form the Argonauts. It’s also what led Jason to marry his witch wife Medea. 8. Sirens in Greek mythology are hideous harpy ladies whose songs can lure you with your greatest desire. The Romans were the ones who popularized the idea of sirens that are sexy women who lure you in with the promise of sex. Last thing. Not really mythology related. Obviously we know that the Spear of Selene isn’t actually a spear of hers. Maybe it’s something named after her. Like, if you barged into Olympus and demanded Apollo show you the rocket from the Apollo 11 mission he might go “the fuck you talking about?”

All good, but I doubt that you were referring to Sisyphus (he once captured Thanatos the God of Death, caused a bit of trouble for the Hades, and managed to evade death even more after that incident, hence his punishment of constantly re-rolling a boulder up a hill). I think it was Tantalus, who in his myth, fed the gods his son when they came over for dinner one time, and cannibalism is a HUGE no-no in the Greek myths(at least, that was one version of the myth. Another version had him stealing ambrosia and nectar while up on Olympus for a party, which are godly foods and a violation of hospitality; kind of a d*ck move when the guy who is the god of hospitality is your DAD.).

To be honest, it feels like you have forgotten something from a previous episode (specifically, the Great Dime Chase)...and that's who Della took the "Spear of Selene" from. It's even the first word in the note you can seen all of in the mentioned episode: Scrooge. To be fair, it's probably terrifying for Dewey to ask Scrooge directly. Heck, with how Donald turns depressed every time he hears his sister's name, he's probably not the best person to talk about it, either. I guess we'll have to wait until someone/something else Scrooge-related shows up in the series before we can continue this plotline...

Honestly, this is the most accurate portrayal of Zeus. In movies and shows he is presented as the wise king of the gods, while in the actual Greek myths he is a jerk. He constantly cheats on his wife with mortal women, sometimes turning into an animal to get down with them.

So some fun mythology facts: In Hellenistic Greek mythology the sun god was Helios and the moon goddess was Selene. In modern times people often say Apollo and Artemis were the gods of the sun and moon...but that's a little off, the Romans with their big trend of synchronization of gods combined Apollo (who was a Greek god) with Helios and a few others but unlike most others kept the name Apollo when added to the Roman pantheon. Meanwhile they combined Artemis with Selene and a local huntress goddess and gave the name Diana. So really "Artemis" was never a moon goddess except in the modern trend (like last twenty five years) to start calling them all by the Greek names again (yeah find movies from the 80s and earlier, its usually the Roman names, or some odd mix of Roman and Greek names, like you'll have a Jupiter and Juno but then also a Hermes in that same scene). PS: If I found something called the Spear of Morgan I'd think it was a copy of the Gae Balg *I know I spelled that wrong* LoL.

Maybe spoilers maybe not. 1: Selene is the "biological father" (god stuff) of the triplets, but the Disney censors cut it all out except for some tiny little grasping at straws level of hints. 2: Apollo is the father, and has Dela prisoner in the sun 3: Thor is the father and Dela too the spear to help him in a battle across dimensions, and didn't realize it was a fairy realm time warp so her there for a few weeks turns into ten years 4: Webby is her own parents, she's actually one of the three Morrigan and reincarnated, but Scrooge and Beakly interfered with the ritual so now she has amnesia.
