They have tons of music. When Derek was young, he played slide with the Allman brothers and had his own band, the Derek Trucks band(starting at 14!!) Susan Tedeschi is a great singer but also a great blues guitarist in her own right. After Derek n Susan got married, members of both of their bands joined together to make The Tedeschi Trucks Band ☺️ Plus, Derek has played with the Grateful Dead, Phish, Eric Clapton, Santana, Jeff Beck.....just to name a few of the many!! BB King says in a performance on KZbin after Derek solos it’s about the best he’s ever heard 😳 One added thought. Of all the reactions I’ve seen to this band no one ever mentions his strumming hand!! He is one of the most unique strummers I’ve ever watched!! I think cause he started so young, when his hands were small, he altered his style from a conventional style n it stuck. It’s also why he never uses a pick. Just something interesting to me 😁

Derek Trucks was essentially born into the Allman Brothers band and joined them in 1999 after Dickey Betts left. He played with the Allman Bros band at age 10 already a master of the guitar. Often called the best living slide guitarist, he then married Susan Tedeschi and also married their respective bands into what is now know as "the Tedeschi Trucks Band" after the Allman Brothers folded. The double drummers was something the Allman Brothers were known for and you can hear a lot of that band in the Tedeschi Trucks band as well, although with a lot more soul baked into the fabric as is clear from this performance. The Allman bros did not have a dedicated horn section for example, and were more bluesy. Glad you liked it! Cheers 🍺
