The people who complain about the slow build need to remember this is Season 3. An anime does not get that many seasons unless there is something worthwhile each season.

Hell, the first John Wick film was a slow burn. The Seven Luminaries are DEFINITELY detestable despite their relatively little screen-time. The ENTIRETY of their screen time has been spent manipulating well-intentioned people into situations that will ONLY result in either their enemies or their own people getting hurt. Based on Hinata's own thoughts last episode, there's clearly a level of spite they hold towards Hinata, one of those same heroes they were supposed to train. Shion and the Yomigaeri all possess the Extra Skills Perfect Memory and Self-Regeneration, which lets them store their memories in their astral body, combined with their Self-Regeneration give them survival capabilities at the level of Orc-Disaster Geld (the Orc Lord Rimuru battled in season 1, not our current Geld). That should tell you how difficult it is to kill any of them. On another note, damn I want some ramen now.

Small Correction: Geld Senior combined Self-Regeneration with Restoration Magic and Starved which allowed him to have regen rivalling those with Ultraspeed Regeneration. So while I agree the end result is the same, the methods are different and should be noted.

This is technically the beginning of the middle part of the story. This series has 3 main arcs. The first arc is Rimiru entering the world and starting a new kingdom with him finishing the first arc as the newest True Awakened Demon Lord. This is the beginning of the second arc. And it's going to be an endless amount of kingdom building. Politics, Economics, World Building, Trade Treatise, Meetings between various King's. The middle section of this series is a lot like the Star Wars prequels. Lots of politics interspersed with power schemes and economic manipulation. The last third of the story without detailed spoilers is a massive world War. So for this season and if there's a potential 4rth season, expect mostly political and economic warfare and conflict. The last third of the story is a massive world War for the fate of reality itself.

Here's the main economic plot that's coming. Basically, late stage capitalism based on the total economic control by the oligarchy VS Rimiru's vision of Democratic Socialism. That's honestly why a lot of people don't like this series after this point.

I may be misunderstanding the point you're making, in which case, please ignore the next paragraph. Is it simply that people don't like stories about any economic conflict, or are you saying, they don't like this particular conflict between these particular economic philosophies, because of their opinions about these particular philosophies? If the latter, the next paragraph applies. I know it's a conflict between political and economic systems, but it not just a two-sided battle. There are more than two kinds of economic and political systems in the series that purport to be the best. The economic conflict isn't just about internal economics, it's also about international trade and cooperation. The central question is what will make everyone happy? Rimuru's answer seems to be, make sure everyone is safe and not hungry, make sure there is access to entertainment in all levels of society, make sure there is a level of democracy, and make sure everyone is happily employed and educated. Focus on economic development. Putting a label on that is not necessary. Yeah, there are oligarchs, but the biggest problem with them is they fear having their power taken away enough to sabotage Tempest, which of course they are going to take exception to. Sort of like the King of Falmuth was afraid of Tempest.
