@MatthewSmith-sz1yq4 жыл бұрын
Lathes are used to cut things perfectly round. Have you ever seen someone stick a potato on a drill and then peel it holding the peeler still and then spinning the potato? Same concept, except with metal or wood instead of the potato and way higher speeds. You slap the hunk of material on the axle, the thing starts spinning super fast, then you lower this blade thing down onto it and start shaving material away. Don't worry, I probably never would have learned what a lathe does either, except for that I have to for my job.

As someone who works logistics, the thought of UPS actually achieving such a feat is pretty entertaining to wrap my mind around. Especially considering the fact that when we receive material from a UPS carrier to our facility it is always in a questionable condition. I suppose this gives me a newfound respect for them lmao.

It's most likely due to TSA and DOT regulations in America seem to only be in Imperial since companies in the US use it to determine shipping rates. It should have been easy to do the conversions though
@bmxscape4 жыл бұрын
its just as easy for him to do the conversion as it is for you to. he's giving you all the information you need, use it
@karankedia82234 жыл бұрын
@@bmxscape then what's the point of watching a video that's supposed to be entertaining and informative and easy consumption, if the channel wants an audience outside of the US they need to cater to their needs too. We can just stick to reading articles and stories online, the video is supposed to make it easier
@captainkiwi774 жыл бұрын
Karan Kedia it’s literally 5 clicks away if you like anyone who lives on this planet dominated by US interests also have a conversion app. But still yeah he should include conversions, he usually does but this video seemed a lot less formal than usual, kinda laid back, he used a little profanity here and there, and seemed generally on the verge of giggling the whole time, same incredulous time I use as well. So I don’t blame him for not pandering to people outside his own reachability, he’s really just telling a story in this video, not as much of a whole production

@Loopsad literally every country in the world except 3 uses metric over imperial. What I'm saying is it would benefit everyone to mention both, not just imperial. And, I was not commenting on the usage of imperial, I was commenting on Michael's attempt to visualize 2.5 people who are 6ft tall.
