Theres other videos that explain why she survived the fall. Including a movie called wings of hope I believe. The director of the movie was to be on that very flight but cancelled at the last minute. This video also misrepresents where she was sitting. She was next to the window. All 3 seats were sucked out and being that shes was the only one attached still on the end it caused a spinning helicopter effect on the way down. That and updraft slowed her decent. Trees broke her fall. The movie is good and told by her herself. She revisits the crash site and the man that eventually rescued her.
@tupcilian76453 жыл бұрын
We cant exactly know how cuz she passed out at impact and before impact but it's likely due to the fact that, since its a rain forest, she might have been very lucky and was cushioned by the trees without being severely injured by branches.

If this is the case I'm thinking of, there's speculation that her row of seats remained intact during the crash and the other people in them were flung away. Just the Brazilian North region states, which are all located inside the region you labeled as Amazon in the video, had almost 4 million people in them. Yes, its still sparsely populated, but notwhere near the figures you mention in the video. My numbers are from the Brazilian Institue for Geography and Statistics, by the way. I have no idea where you found the 200k figure, but it is NOT true. The thought of being stranded randomly in the Amazon with the supplies this girl had is terrifying. What a badass.

This reminds of this one time when I kinda sprained my ankle or something and decided not go to work for 11 days.

Dude, she fell asleep cuz the great mystic dragon made her sleepy and almost safely brought her down in the middle of the forest. Obvious, isn't it?

Important missing detail: She was raised in the jungle as a child. I doubt anyone without her survival knowledge would have made it. I recommend watching the documentary "Wings of Hope" by Werner Herzog where she returns to the area and talks about the crash and the following days in the jungle.

I'm just wondering, aren't planes supposed to be designed to survive lightning strikes? I thought the electricity was supposed to harmlessly pass through the shell of the plane and exit through the wing.

This was 1971 on a cheap airline so idk

Yep, thousands of occurences of lightning strike on airplanes (on average each plane is hit 1 per year according to wiki) but only 3 crashes caused by this event in the entire aviation history. So LADA is just one the 3 extremely unlucky flight.
