This is a great, frugal art project and almost anyone probably already has most of the supplies! One thing that is different about erasers vs. rubber relief block media is that erasers usually have an abrasive like pumice powder in them, and that can dull your tools. You can always buy extra cutters, but since frugality is part of the lesson, it's a good time to mention sharpening your cutters periodically. A whetstone is a great addition to any studio for honing cutters, chisels, and knives, because when they get dull, they're not as safe, and they don't carve as well. Another frugal printmaking technique artists may want to explore is drypoint intaglio printing with cardboard from shelf-stable food packages. An etching needle or embossing tool can be used to create the design on the cardboard, and ink or oil paint can be rubbed into the grooves. Wipe off the excess ink, moisten and blot some paper, place it on top of the cardboard "plate", and burnish the back with a spoon. No press required!

I remember when I was little, how surprised I was with how well my eraser took graphite, lol, it felt so soft, and felt weird, like- this is supposed to make pencil disappear ! So I set to coloring all my pencil erasers 🤪

I hated doing art 95% of my life because nothing turned out as well as I wanted; but I got very sick in 2018. With nothing else to do I started watching a lot of KZbin artists & soon felt like trying art myself. I got such peace & enjoyment from it, I took a college art course when I felt better. Of course I was the worst student & was too sick to finish the class but I still received valuable information. My professor said we need to draw as much as possible. Accept that you must get out 1,000 bad drawings before you get to the good ones. In the beginning it was easy to appreciate my bad drawings as part of the learning process, but after gaining experience & being forced to stop because of my health for over 1½ years. it's been very difficult to begin again. I fret that I've lost all of my progress gained & wonder if I'll ever be well enough to reach my artistic goals as I'm only about 550 drawings in due to long & frequent hospitalizations. Thank you for reminding me that failure is not only okay, but it's a very necessary step. I'm just a beginner I don't need to obsess with how quickly I obtain my goals. I just need to be thankful the Lord turned something I seriously disliked into a beautiful & comforting lifeboat that gave me peace & purpose during a crisis.

I have to admit to some nostalgia when I watched this video and the previous one. My favourite class in school back in the murky past, was art class. We did carving on lino and leather, and that was my favourite lesson ever. I still remember making a belt for my father and a stamp or two for my mother who was an avid arts & crafts fan too. It was so relaxing. I must have been either 7-8 yrs old and took it all so seriously back then. I still recall the smell of the lino, leather and ink, as we tried out our stamps etc. Thank you for this video Mira. It was wonderful to watch and recall the past. My favourite stamp you made were the zentangle one, and the teddy one. They were both lovely. God bless you and yours, today and always, and may His grace abound to you today and forever.

It’s so great you share what doesn’t work, because KZbin videos are so edited to perfection, it is very frustrating when we try it at home and it doesn’t work as seamlessly. Thank you so much for pointing this out! It will really help so many people. It’s easy to give up on something when it doesn’t seem to be working out as well for us. This is so, so important! Don’t give up on your work!😊

I agree with you, there really is so much satisfaction when doing small art pieces. It’s probably because you get to see the results so quickly. I’ve been procrastinating between my next big painting and doing little watercolours and sketchbook pieces in the meantime. Love these vids and I say go for part 3! 💕

Plus, you're job is to make videos, so of course you're going to make videos doing the things you enjoy and love. Anyway, I just wanted to counter any of those comments and say that I think you're amazing :)

I don’t know if it works the same as with manufactured rubber stamps but with those of you pat them over with sellotape before you ink them for the first time it helps stop the patchy prints you get first, love this idea I have the carving tool and still some of the Lino that comes with it but I think this would be a good way for me to avoid my “must not waste the materials” thing I have

Mistakes can turn into to new ideas. I have often a point where I go, ähm no...but hey that is interessting...how did I do that...and than I enhance it in a nother project even more. Maybe you can use the earaser failor to emboss foil or so.
