I feel like the grey is under appreciated. It’s one of the few routes that actually causes a bleak and unsettling feeling. When the corpse drags you down, I feel a horror that none of the other routes evoke

Yeah, the Greys, ESPECIALLY Drowned, remind you very unsubtly that this is a horror game.

That corpse is one of the top body horror moments in the game. Honestly this whole branch (and the Burning Grey melting) are some of the most intense examples of such

The Grey is honestly the ONLY ONE to feel unsettling atleast for me. Like yeah every route has some form of horror subtext but you can pair it with the voice’s commentary to make it less ‘serious(?) but in The Grey you can really feel the dread that invokes a similar terror to Analog Horror and such

@doogaminyu for reall! the drowned Grey and the wraith were the worst ones in my opinion, and it's an awesome reminder of what the game really is, even if it's a love story underneath it all..

Paranoid is very clearly the strongest voice. List of things Paranoid does - Everything in Nightmare - Gives us free will to throw ourselves into the abyss in Wraith - Figuring out the shadow is Smitten in Happily Ever After (although this is a half point since that’s pretty obvious.) - Teaming up with Skeptic to stop us from throwing the blade - Convincing Skeptic to try cutting into the chains again (although this was Hero he was the one who started the line of thought so he gets another half point.) I’m counting the last two as double points since I believe Skeptic is the 2nd strongest voice. Also, I’ll give him bonus points for basically figuring out the whole “reality changes base on your perspective” in this route, with “what if feeling the walls make them close in on you” and “we should cut the chains because we should!” Edit: Thanks for reminding me of Appoethosis, so I rewatched it. he gets like, 5 points for everything he does there. Not only is Paranoid’s funniest line there, he literally goes “WE CAN DO ANYTHING” and is a big part of the fight. Overall, Paranoid solos, devs need to balance him next patch

I dunno. Smitten does some pretty insane stuff all on his own regardless of the other voices. Actually, him being the shadow makes me suspect he's the strongest voice because he's capable of doing things as a fully separate entity. If he weren't such a one track blind fool... That said, Paranoid is always useful and helping you survive. Smitten is a loose cannon you cannot depend on who is probably buffing the Princess just by existing like Broken is.

@@Trivial_Whim Smitten being the driving force behind Happily Ever After does make him powerful, yes. And I will admit that he also gets bonus points for being able to kill the Decider whenever he feels like it. But besides that, what else does he do? I also feel like his powers in HEA balance out a bit because of how easy it is to defeat him. (just turn off the lights, or reject the narrative) Overall, Paranoid and Skeptic are shown doing more things than Smitten and I feel like that gives them the edge.

-Cheated does the same thing in Wraith too though. And he does it faster. Plus it's better to free her, especially if you have a certain voice 😏. And Cold also knows about the perception stuff, he just doesn't tamper with it. And no they don't need to balance him because they're done with all major updates

@@Trivial_WhimBroken also does stuff too - look at Apotheosis, Adversary-Fury and Cage. And in one of them he's actually nerfing her, while in another he's just guiding her (and us).

I was weirded out by the cage and its route and how the drowned grey route is done. im glad that the prisoner has all these different routes, but seriously, every time i see the grey creepy stuff just happens

Thanks for the detailed video! Though I believe you forgot one thing I was always curious about, which is leaving the princess in the basement and running away. But else everything is perfect. Great Video

Going for 100% now and I’m putting off having to face The Grey because she’s just the worst 😬 Also dropping The Cage’s head back down the pit is wild, my heart dropped when she mentioned it and I knew it was about to become an option

It's almost endearing, like they can't live without each other but neither can they stop fighting. I think it's a reference, too, to what the shifting mound says in the end. Something about love being a violent dance they know well.

I would love to see a video highlighting all the strong and weak points for having certain voices. For example, the voice of the paranoid providing information others would have missed or keeping the player alive “heart liver lungs nerves” As well as the drawbacks this personality brings. A video for each personality this way would be amazing

the voices are different personalities on different routes, stubborn sometimes never gives up sometimes gives up for example, so i'm not sure

thank you for these videos since i can't get the game yet sadly. I wanted to ask if you could show a playthrough with The Wild? I've heard that The Stubborn can be in that chapter but I haven't found a playthrough of it and I would love to see how he acts in that chapter. I've heard it's when you just battle the Witch but that may not be the full intrustions. I'm sorry if this isn't too helpful for getting that kinda path.

The Cage good ending is so much more meaningful with Cold as opposed to Cheated.

But that's Broken, not Cold, and both he and Cheated are just as good for that route, especially since one of them is so hilarious and the other provides a more empathetic perspective, kinda like Thorn Plus I'd argue staying in the basement is just as good - we get to see a dance. Especially since there are no good or bad endings

@reubensalter8125 you're right, oops. I mix up words I have similar associations with so that's what I meant lol. I'm not sure if it's a type of dyslexia or what. But my guy, look at what I said again. I said MEANINGFUL. Not somehow superior. I was appreciating that path from a story perspective and nothing else. And yes, the dance is a very interesting ending as well.
