In the princess and the dragon ending you have the option to torment the princess by refusing to talk out of spite and letting her die seemingly alone. Doing this can lead to ine of the worst endings and rarest achievements apparently
@heliummaster66287 күн бұрын
the dance is probably my favorite route in the game now. we not only get one of the best endings with the princess, but we also get to watch as the narrator’s belief is deconstructed by showing the flaws. if I had to describe it it one word, it would be catharsis. and at 39:08, we get to hear him realize that he was wrong.

39:09 I think this might be the narrators moment of realization, or at least where the realization starts to set in, seeing the changeless world he was trying to create and seeing that it isn't a world worth living in, that he's made a terrible and irreversible mistake it's the "oh" moment additionally I think 41:09 is another moment of him realizing how bad his goal really was it's so sad that only one piece of him got to see the truth while the others are still stuck in denial also I just wanna mention this line because of how absolutely heartbreaking it is 45:41 😭

@reubensalter8125 oh yeah! I didn't think about it like that
Bro, it's still emotional, he's clearly trying not to fixate on it because he's clearly against the idea too. Plus Oppy just gloats about how we've, though it is clear after we do it that he was masking as well. Also not everyone is crying - Hero doesn't sound like he's crying and not every player would be crying either.

@@TheFiercestCreatureInTheWorld But like I said it doesn't ruin it - it just shows he's masking how he's feeling by distracting himself. It adds a sense of tension to it, and that can be an emotion in itself.

22:27 The Long Quiet: *Step into the shadows and try to lure her out* The Narrator: You step into the shadows and are enveloped in total darkness. Your heart pounds in your chest, ears pricked, eyes wide despite the blackness, waiting for any sign of movement. Mano Aloe: That's right. Keep steady, don't let your nerves get the better of you. Voice of the Stubborn: And what? You're going to turn around the second she runs for us. You'll get us killed, you pathetic fool. Nene Momosuzu: There! She's about to strike, Aloe-senpai. The Long Quiet: *tries to lure her and escape* The Narrator: With the near-silence of a determined predator, the Princess erupts from the shadows. But you've already started your swift escape. 22:58 Voice of the Stubborn: Stop it! Fight her! The Princess: *sniffing* The Narrator: The conflict in your heart through usually of the little consequence, slows you down just enough. You don't make it into the tunnel before you feel her hot breath at your back, rushing up your spine and closing in on your neck, as her teeth press into your skin and- *faded away* Voice of the Hunted: Death. But that's Broken, not Cold, and both he and Cheated are just as good for that route, especially since one of them is so hilarious and the other provides a more empathetic perspective, kinda like Thorn Plus I'd argue staying in the basement is just as good - we get to see a dance. Especially since there are no good or bad endings

We don't even know what she looks like. Some specifics would be very helpful. The Narrator: She's just a Princess. Don't overthink it. Voice of the Hero: She's is clearly not. The Long Quiet: Stop hiding and show yourself. The Princess: If you want to see me, you should get better at seeing. Voice of the Hunted: She knows that her strength lies in shadows and secrets. She won't reveal herself unless she has to. 13:44 Mano Aloe: She's coiling for another strike. Be somewhere else. Voice of the Hero: We're on the back foot. Voice of the Hunted: The back foot keeps us nimble. Keeps us alive. Voice of the Hero: It doesn't matter if it keep us alive if it eventually kills us. We need to take back the momentum. We need to do something. The Long Quiet: *wait for her to strike and hit her back* Voice of the Hunted: This isn't going to work. We're in her domain. We just have to stay alive. Voice of the Hero: If we keep dodging her forever, we're going to get tired. We're going to slip up. We have to take a risk.

I think the broken might be a simp
@reubensalter8125Ай бұрын
But he's not a simp though - he's just turned to a higher power because it's better than having nothing to believe in. Even if that same power is what caused him to hurt in the first place, it's just easier to accept it than to have nothing at all. Plus he's all about empathy now and he understands our shared connection with the princess. That's the whole reason he turns on her in that ending - he finally finds something else to believe in and he ends it, not by killing her or hurting her for hurting's sake, but by forcing her to empathise with him, and us, by transferring each other's consciousness between both. Plus, look at him in Fury and Cage - he clearly wants to help them because he understands and feels their pain. Wild too, but but more in the sense that he, again, understands our shared connection but I digress. My point is: how can he be a simp if he empathises with her on a deeper level than Smitten ever could in a route that isn't Thorn?

@reubensalter8125 Call me dumb, or stupid, or a moron, if you'd like, but I don't know where you got the idea that the Broken acts subservient to the princess just because he has nothing else to believe in. I thought that the only reasons for why the Broken serves the princess was because the Slayer lost the fight against her, and because he thinks that she'll be kind to the Slayer and everyone else involved if he and everyone else gave her what she wants, not because he had nothing else to believe in, other than the princess. Where is it said, shown, or implied in-game that the Broken only worships the princess because he believed he had nothing else to believe in? Or, is this just a headcanon of yours that came up with, based on the Voice of the Broken's personality? I'm genuinely trying to understand where you got this idea from, because I'm worried that I missed yet another thing that's within this very complex game.
@reubensalter812523 күн бұрын
@@bugboi9858 Loads of people have said it and compared Broken's attitude to real life situations: people do join religions when they experience a crisis that affects them tremendously, and some of these religions are cults. Or in another scenario, people who suffer abuse at the hands of their tormenters tend to develop Stockholm Syndrome towards them as a psychological response to the ongoing trauma. Based on how Broken acts throughout Tower as well as her successors, I'd say it's a loose combination of both of these. Plus in other routes (sans Moment of Clarity) he's a very emotionally healthy person, which makes him unfortunately easy to be taken advantage of. But that's just my take, especially given he's been expanded on massively. It doesn't mean you've missed anything and it doesn't make your perspective the wrong one at all, nor does it make mine the right one. In the end they're all just perspectives.... Except for the ones that use the S word to describe him - he's grown beyond that now.

Letting the princess possess you is like inviting a girl to a boys sleep-over/Party/Group chat where the voices are your friends, the hero's voice is specificly your little brother, the narrator is your best friend and you are you and the girl is your delusional crush who has a crush on you but doesn't know if you are the best option and you also have a crush on her but don't know if she is the best option (by the word "Crush" i ment "the urge to save her/him")

This feels like a metaphor for marriage, the torches are pretty clear and when the flames go out, you have to let her go, even when you don´t want to let her go, even when you didn´t know that you didn´t want to let her go, because you never said yes I will. Also I thought that the chapter ended when some one died or she went out of the house, but on the last flame, she just got bored.
@reubensalter8125Ай бұрын
That's... more of a divorce metaphor than a marriage metaphor. A marriage metaphor would be seeing a loveless marriage for what it really is and allowing something new - a much better, stronger and more honest marriage - to take its place instead. That's what the dance represents.
