Good alternative for people who can't afford a newer stang.You can pick one of these up with decent mileage and condition for like $9,000-$15,000 and a good supercharger is only about $5,000 all said and done. Good job David!

Say whatever you like about this car, but its the reason that there is a Camaro and a Challenger again. After 2002, other than the Terminator, the American Muscle/Pony car scene didn't have much to offer. The S197 reopened the market. Made everybody step their game up. Just like the original. It's great to be an American car guy today, we are in a great era.

@markevans6585 жыл бұрын
Richard Lacourse the Terminator is a great car but it didn’t start the horsepower wars. It’s pretty much universally accepted that the S197’s sales numbers triggered Chevrolet and Dodge to jump back in the game at all, Then GT500 was answered initially by the limited SRT Challenger and it took Camaro a couple more years to bring out the ZL1. The Terminator had nothing to do with any of that. Still a good car though.
@richardlacourse29445 жыл бұрын
The s197 brought retro back to muscle car scene, it didnot bring horse power until 2007, to think the terminator had nothing to do with it is wrong, i own a cobra and a S197, the S197 is a good car and i like it, but its not the same, and im done, have a good day,

I've got to say, after owning a 4.6 s197 for 9 years. (2006 White GT Premium Manual, and my current car 2008 Bullitt), They're not that bad. For what it is, the 4.6L 3V is solid. It's not impossible to drive hard around corners, the power isn't bad, and it's not a dog. The engine responds to mods well, and they're not as heavy as 5.0's. They're user friendly and solid. Not saying the improvements made to the 5.0's are nominal or worthless. They're not, but the S197 4.6's are not bad cars, hard to drive, or Dogs by any means. It's still a driver's car. I'm looking to get a 5.0 next year, but I'm keeping my Bullitt and planning to keep modding it.

Having owned both a 3 valve and Coyote Mustang, It's hard for me to say ones 'better' than the other. (Built of course) I say this subjectively but I think I even prefer the sound of the 3 valve over the Coyote. If you have a 3 valve and love the genre? you are not hurting. Love the sound of the 3V motor!! I had Ford HotRod cams in mine and it sounded amazing. I think you are a little high on the HP numbers with 8 Lbs of boost, I think it's more like 475 at the crank. Great video of a great car. Certainly brought back memories of my '05 GT. I love my '13 but when I watch my '05 videos I just love the sound!!

I truly wish I bought this vehicle as my first car a little over a year and a half ago... I regret it almost every day, because I grew up idolizing the '05-'09 Mustang GT's and wanted one ever since... However, I've gotten too used to the luxury and interior quality of my current vehicle which sucks because now I don't think I'll ever get to experience the car I grew up idolizing, but instead I plan to buy the 2020 HPP Ecoboost next year. Every now and then though, I think about if I should just buy one of these instead still to live out that life long fantasy.

Forged internals and more boost are a must if you're going to supercharge this car. That's exactly how I would do it anyway. 560 horsepower or more, not under 500.

I would get one when I graduate college, but New England weather is so bipolar

Russel Nguyen My 2008 GT/CS is still to this date one of the better vehicles I've driven in snow. It handled Colorado winters just fine.

Mustangs can be sleepers, take the "Weird Sounding V6 turbo mustang" for example recorded by 1320, beats a higher HP GTR even with 3 people in the mustang and beats a procharged C7, Mustangs can be a sleeper

Kenneth Lewis of movies that absolutely no-one know about. Even if he was an unknown amateur movie producer you wouldn't be able to spend about 4 million euros on 2 cars and a house on beverly hills, but at the en of the day it doesn't matter.

Well he probably invested well, I've known people that didn't make enough money to buy what they have bought but invested well.
