I think I loved this book more than the original because HOLY HELL is Bella way more interesting and intelligent here. It makes me wonder if Meyer understood the backlash of Bella's character and kinda rewrote her a bit... Edward comparing her to Jo March and Scout Finch, and Bella being the one to come up with the plan for leaving Charlie in safety. Or maybe it's just a case of how we see ourselves vs. how other people see us. I also love all the extra Cullen scenes! Emmett's character is just fantastic.

The car chase scene at the end was so exciting I LITERALLY started chomping on my fingers halfway through. Everything from “The Hunt” afterwards felt like being transported from an indie romantic drama to a straight-up thriller. Stephanie really just KILLED it. 🤯

Midnight Sun is much better than Twilight. Because as an adult now, I can understand Edward's POV better than I can a teenaged girl. Also getting just more content on the Cullens. And people complain it's not good because of how dark it is. But it's a VAMPIRE book. I feel like those who don't like Midnight Sun are really just very hypocritical. I however have reread it half a dozen times since it's release and I want to reread it again now.

I am obsessed with this book. Once I finished it, I immediately wanted to start reading it again. Which is extremely rare for me. I hated Rosalie more in this book, than the original Twilight version. However, that just makes what happens in Breaking Dawn that much better. I really wish Stephenie Meyer would rewrite the rest of the books from Edward's perspective. New Moon would be really dark, but I would like to see what the rest of the Cullen's were doing during that time. If she were to rewrite Breaking Dawn, it would be awesome for her to include the movie version of the fight scene!

New Moon from Edwards prospective would be.... mind blowing. Imagine how many boxes of tissues you'd have to keep on hand? I remember crying so hard reading new moon, but from Edwards side. All he did was hunt Victoria and miss Bella. It would just be so beyond depressing. And now, I want it. Thank you for making me want it. But also I kind of hate you for making me want something we most likely will never get.

This book was so good! I feel like original twilight was so cringy in so many places but this one was really interesting and I think it focused less on the love story and more on the other parts that aren’t that well described in the original book.

Great review! The scenes you described were my favorites as well…. on the edge between anxiety & tears… I just read the book.. late to Twilight saga… I was impressed & absolutely loved Midnight Sun. Again, you did an amazing job reviewing this book!

i absolutely loved this video, i was shooked when i realised that it only has 5k views, this seemed like a 500k worthy video. i just finished listening to the book and i didnt process how good it actually was until you reminded me of all the good stuff. i dont read much at all but i think this must be my favorite book i have ever read. keep doing what you're doing, its heart warming to listen to you talking about something you're so enthusiastic about. i absolutely adore you, plus the makeup- GIRL- you're gorgeous

I absolutely could read about Jasper all day long. His life growing up in texas, joining the confederate army, meeting his maker, the southern vampire wars, befriending Peter and Charlotte, his decision to leave Maria, and his time alone and then meeting Alice. ALL OF IT!

Edward DID talk with Rosalie and after that he called Charlie and was told by Jake that he's at the funeral. So all he could put together was that Bella killed herself by jumping off the cliff and that Charlie was attending her funeral. Even though that Bella would have died at the same day and it's highly unlikely that the funeral takes place on the same day...

I felt that Rosalie had legitimate beef and I loved the book but that was one thing I hated about Edward, how much he dismissed and belittled Rose and her thoughts and feelings. He also kept calling her shallow and pig head, but I think he just can't handle a confident woman. I love Edward, I just think he wronged Rose.

@Ade Olorunmaiye Yeah but look at it from her pov, Edward put their family in jeopardy time and time again for Bella, a girl Rose barely even knew. Next thing she knows this girl knows all their family secrets, which could not only expose them but bring down the wrath of the Voltori, then his entire family put themselves at risk saving her again from James a very skilled, intelligent tracker. Granted, she should have been more mature about her feelings, both of them really. Instead of yelling at him in her head she should have been like let's talk this out. But that doesn't change the fact that Edward completely dismissed her feelings and her fears and even before Bella he made it clear he only thought of her as an empty headed barbie doll.

And I could see that but he barely knows Bella,hasn't introduced her to his family yet and has no real idea how well she can keep a secret and he's already spilling the beans,not even acknowledging the danger knowing puts Bella in.

Honestly though, brothers and sisters do think that way about each other. It's typical. But at the end of the day they still love each other and would do anything for the other. Sibling relationships are NOT perfect.
