YES Edward's perspective was darker and seeing the Cullens more and not just being told that Esme is like a mother to Edward and Emmett is his closest brother but actually being shown I was just like finally I can understand fully what I was shown in Twilight if that makes sense. Bella's pov is iconic don't get me wrong but it's like her power how she's a shield us readers had one side of the mirror and omg how have we lived thinking we knew the story without this side. Everything makes much more sense and it was fun to get to know the Cullens more we were robbed for so long.

I read the first chapter on line and was so disappointed when it wasn't completed years ago. Please don't apologize for loving the book and the series. I'm a fifth grade teacher who has enjoyed the books with my 5th grade girls, and some boys as well, since they came out. These books have a solid lesson to teach about good and evil. The Cullens have chosen to deny their nature to not kill humans, with much sacrifice to themselves. And Edward would give up anything for Bella's safety and happiness and putting someone else's well being first is true love. I'm so glad Midnight Sun is so much longer than Twilight; it must mean there is so much more story.

@sistermadrigalmorning2334 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I felt like what was mainly flushed out from that draft was Bella's personality, which makes sense because since Twilight exists she hadn't really made Bella 3 dimensional in the first draft, which I think was originally written for Robert Pattinson to read to understand his character. But in finished Midnight Sun Bella's more fleshed out-- otherwise Edward is basically the same in that draft and Midnight Sun.

I’m currently reading this book, but, I really didn’t like the 10th chapter when they leave the restaurant and he is driving her home. Despite how is much more interesting to be inside Edward’s mind, the way they developed the subject about she figuring out he’s a vampire, and telling him the story about her conversation with Jacob, and the questions about if he sleeps, eats and etc., felt so superficial in my opinion. It felt like they’re talking about any other think not much important, like likes and dislikes. I don’t know, I’m a bit frustrated! lol

I think it would be really interesting if Stephanie Meyers did decide to write the rest of the Twilight series from Edwards perspective- Midnight Sun was actually super good, and gives you more insight on the story. After reading it, you understand the book(s) so much more. But I'm pretty sure Stephanie is completely against writing more Twilight books from Edwards perspective (which is ok) but I still would be really interested to see things from Edwards point of view such as; His and Bella's wedding, What his reaction was when he heard that Bella had "died", what he was thinking when he found out Bella was pregnant, his thoughts throughout her pregnancy, what he thinks of Renesmee, more details about what happened when he temporarily dumped Bella and sulked for like 6 months, etc. His thoughts are generally more deep than Bella's, and I'm not going to lie I find it super funny when Emmet and Jasper pick on him. Or Maybe Stephanie could just do Breaking Dawn? Idk.

Let's say that you slept 12 hours during these last two days, so, without doing anything else you have spent 36 hours (2160 minutes) reading, every page may took you 3.3 minutes, approximately. I completely prefer Edward’s perspective over Bella’s! And I liked how Edward saw Jacob... I think he spoke of his “innocent mind” at least a couple of times. That was funny to me. I liked the Pomegranate too. The cover and the comparisons throughout the story. It definitely met my expectations so I wasn’t really shocked or horrified by Edward’s actions or thought processes. He’s a vampire. This is Twilight. It’s gonna get gruesome and uncomfortable. Also, Edward has always been very honest about who he is and how he sees himself. He’s a monster. Our beautiful monster. But as is made clear time and time again, this is not your average love story. He isn’t human so he’s bound to handle certain situations in a way that would usually throw up red flags. I wouldn’t suggest anyone go looking for a guy like Edward Cullen but for who and what he is, I think we can appreciate that most of what he did, good or bad, he did out of genuine concern and love for Bella. We see that he means well and throughout the saga, is willing to make adjustments and concessions when he realizes that what he wanted or thought was best truly isn’t what’s best for Bella. And then there’s the fact that his human side is such a gentleman from a bygone era of chivalry.... I always felt really bad for Jacob because if the world were as it should be, he would have been the perfect person for Bella, flaws and all. But in this world, he never stood a chance. Who can compete with Edward Cullen? 😉

Can y'all help me out,I'm currently reading the scene at the restaurant/date,but why is Jacob there?and in the movie it also doesn't show him there. Like he talks to bella and visevers but yet they don't describe him to be physically there,plus edward doesn't interact w him🥴 Can someone explain me?

MercyEstrada02 hmm I don’t remember him being there. I think Bella is mentioning him because she got the idea that Edward is a vampire from the story Jacob told Bella when she was at la push beach

Ok so I'm reading it online (not legally) and in the Port Angeles chapter it seems like Bella and Jacob are also reading the book? And like reacting to it in real time? I'm hella confused so I'd appreciate if anyone could shed some light

Really good review. I'm not sure about reading it yet but I'm curious, does it have a twist like in Twilight Reimagined?

Thank you! :) and there’s no stray of original Twilight plot, but hearing it from Edward does kind of make it feel like a new story at times!
