@@thatfitfriend I like to review just about anything before I pull the trigger just because we kind of lived more and more online than in person nowadays. So it's harder to find some of the you know hidden gems for brands at stores because it's always kind of just the same stuff that's always been there and oftentimes aftermarket stuff or stuff that's other than the big box stores or big name. Brands can be quite better than the stuff that's been around longer because I feel like sometimes they try harder and they put a little more effort into it instead of just pumping out knowing that they can make money cuz it's got their brand name on it. So I research everything before I pull the trigger on anything and I definitely feel more comfortable purchasing me shoes after watching your videos.

I haven't tried the trainer+ or court trainer the OG trainer is my go to training shoe. It's light, stable, I like the low stack height and I know what I'm getting. I don't have to worry that the next version messed up something I like. I primarily do CrossFit and it works great for anything I do inside. It is pretty bad to run in but I over the years I found that's pretty much the case for all trainers I've tried (nanos, metcons, strike movement). While some have been a little better to run in than other there aren't any I would really want to run in so I don't even factor that in when getting new trainers.

Firefighter so we do a MIX of training and looking into these. I’ve had the OG trainer for about 3 years now (on my second pair which is now shot) & need another. I use them in a part time job moving pianos and going up and down grip tape ramps definitely eats up the grip.. thinking the trainer+ may be the way to go seeing the bottom being rigid maybe they’ll last longer (although listening to this makes me lean towards court). Awesome video thank you so much. Have a wide foot too so I’ve made due w/the OG ones and haven’t had crazy complaints Trainer+ for PT during my fire shifts & for wear during my part time moving gig seem to be the way to go.

The NOBULL Trainer is less cushioned. Even then though, the Court Trainer and Trainer+ are still pretty dense and I don't think most folk will have an issue with them. @@elliscarlson1311 Gothcha - these will be similar to the GORUCK model. If you're looking for a transitional shoe that isn't training focused, check out the Lems Primal 2. For a wider model with a bit of cushion, the Altra Solsctice XT 2 can be a viable option. The Haze Trainer can also be a decent option if you want a more "minimalist feel" with your trainers. Side note and question (prob TMI, tbh, lol), but why not integrate both styles of footwear into your life and choose the best shoe for the context of the activity/your preferences? I only ask because you see a lot of folks on the minimalist shoe pendulum swing due to marketing and I'm always curious as to why there's no middle ground when it comes to shoe selection. Could easily save the GORUCK model for certain cross-training sessions and slowly integrate the Vivo model in for daily wear, then ramp up their use in the gym accordingly based on your acclimation periods.
