It's just ALWAYS something with the Ravens man, O-line struggles out of the gate? Move Mekari to LG, slide Rosengarten in, it gets better, Secondary the worst in the league? Cut Eddie Jackson and bench Williams have only allowed one passing TD in the last 3 games, and no QB has over 220 passing yards. NOW our GOAT kicker looks completely washed and has cost us 2 of the last 3 games. I wanna believe in them, but I'm just having a hard time putting faith in John Harbaugh, when I haven't had any in him for the last 4 years.
@tmoneytrev97988 күн бұрын
TFG made a good point in the past that having an offensive guy at HC is extremely valuable. Harbaugh is a special teams guy and that means that whenever the Ravens have a great OC or even DC they're gonna get poached for HC jobs around the league. Happened last year when we lost Macdonald to the Seahawks. Instead of promoting him and kicking out Harbaugh they let him walk. I'm afraid the same thing is gonna happen this next offseason with Todd Monken. It'd make the most sense to get rid of Harbaugh and promote Monken to HC, especially since Harbaugh's specialty is special teams and the Ravens special teams have been atrocious this year (3rd last for FG%).
@huntermorris74218 күн бұрын
I see your point but I don't see Monken being an upgrade. I think its more likely he goes somewhere like the Giants, Bears, etc and is terrible as a HC
@ChewsCarefully8 күн бұрын
I think there's something obvious everyone's missing here. Not all OCs are equal. Remember week 1 where Monken ran the Same Play 3 times in a row at the end of the game, including having Justice Hill block Chris Jones? That wasn't the only time that game he called the same play more than once, nor the only game he's done it. Monken freezes & gets confused every time things don't go right. Sometimes it takes 3 plays in a row to go wrong before he reacts badly. But it never takes _more_ that 3. That's a serious problem. He schemes *good **_plays._* What he *doesn't* do is have any Plan B ready for any contingencies. So when Plan A doesn't work, his gears grind to a complete halt. I can't remember if it was the Steelers or Browns game where Henry & LJ8 both looked in frustration at the sideline multiple times but that's a sign that Harbaugh refuses to see the problem & fix it & has lost the players. I'd have more sympathy, but I'm really tired of Ravens fans dumping on Lamar. Y'all excused Greg Roman & this last playoff game when Harbs & Monken hung him out to dry calling only RPOs forcing Lamar to do their job for them y'all also jumped on the Popular Meme Bandwagon & said "so Lamar had No Excuses" when in reality, this means they gave him Zero Support. _MO_ QB has *ever* called their own plays in playoff game (& won) _EVER!_ They can't be a QB _and see_ what the defense is doing & adjust. That's _why_ coaches exist. & *in a playoff game against the Chiefs where the team needed it,* Harbs & Monken just shrugged & said _"We" dunno." & you fans blamed Lamar for this somehow.

@jamesklingensmith75298 күн бұрын
The main thing I can't get behind in these rankings is how the Texans keep ending up in the top 10. Barely beating the second-worst team in the league and allowing a Mac-Jones-led offense to look anything more than anemic really should not count for much, and their offensive line woes and Stroud looking more and more mortal is a huge concern for a team that everyone thought was going to be more of a contender this year. For me they're pretty easily in the "why are you the way you are tier;" the only reason they're in a playoff spot is because they play in probably the worst division in football and I expect them to be a pretty easy out even to a wild card team come playoff time if their current level of play keeps up.

Why would you be concerned about Darnold? His passing accuracy is 80.7% with 13.1% bad throws - exactly the same as Goff (per Pro Football Reference), and better than every other top 10 QB. The last few weeks he has made the critical game winning drives, that other QBs like Kyler, Caleb, Kirk, Lamar and other QBs haven't been able to. Sam has 10 games with a QB rating over 100 - best in the league. At this point expecting him to have a bad game is the equivalent of expecting Goff or Burrow to have a bad game. The Vikes biggest worries might be the IOL against elite pass rushes, and CBs against elite WRs.

@@joetesch2299 That's true, but Flores rotates his guys consistently so it's really just Murphy and Cashman that have logged up the big numbers. KOC is all about workload too, so I'd expect he gives the D a catch up light session somewhere. This weeks game is the most confident I've felt about a comfortable win since week 1, so hopefully KOC will be able to start benching some key players late in the 3rd quarter. I really think they're going to get after Cousins - with no fear of him taking off like Caleb or Kyler. I also see Sam being fairly safe in the pocket against the Falcons pass rush, and if he has time to find Jets, Addison and TJ - then things could get ugly quickly for them. Kirk trying to communicate from the shotgun with that crowd noise will be a new experience for him.

Chiefs have another gear we can kick into, when we need it, and as we've shown every year with Mahomes at the helm. It's a matter of leadership, not mythos. Our lack of explosiveness this year is merely due to a turnstile at left tackle, which will soon be transformed into a fairly solid wall with Humphries. Mahomes will finally get time to pass without scrambling for his life. Additionally, Hollywood will soon be back: no team has enough elite CBs to cover him, Hopkins, and Kelce, especially with Pacheco threatening to gallop up the field with a checkdown, and Xavier pushing back the top. It can't be covered. Certainly not when Mahomes has time to pass. The only team that gives me pause is the Lions. However, they'll be rattled in the Superbowl (think of their NFC Championship collapse last year, losing a 24-7 lead). They'll probably make it to the Superbowl against us, but they won't be playing at their best. Chiefs meanwhile thrive under pressure. We're threepeating.

I normally don’t say this, but I think the comment about the “horribly dirty hit” on Trevor Lawrence was due to a lack of research. Slow mo shows he was already launching when Lawrence started his slide. Even Tom Brady came out and said Lawrence was to blame. You can’t expect a defensive player, not to take a chance when they have an opportunity to land a big hit on the opposing QB who is a runner. The problem with the rules is that a quarterback can start their slide, and that means that in .5 seconds the play went from a great hit to a personal foul. How are we supposed to expect defensive players to react to that?

But Bryce is definitely not that kind of QB, his strength is all in his processing and anticipation. If those things aren't there, and very few rookies have them in spades, he has nothing. And nothing is exactly what we saw in his first ~20 starts. I'm glad he got to sit and reset then get a real second chance as a starter. You have to wonder how this season could have gone without the injuries on the DL, without hiring a proven failure as OC, and without starting the season with the clearly inferior QB. Even now, having lost Davante because of the inexplicable decision to roll with Minshew out of the gate (I'm fairly sure that Adams would still be on the team if they'd gone with O'Connell), this team is far better than #30 in the league, whatever the record says. With better luck and better coaching we could easily be 15 places higher - sometimes the coin flips just go against you for a season.

I’d ask why Indy is catching strays today, but I both know and understand why. You’re still getting a “bruh” from me.

Haven’t checked up on these clips in a while… Came in this week to see if you’re still dumping on the Vikings- and yeah, most definitely are. But not surprised. Lions get praise for winning close games- got the 8-5 Ravens at 4? Nah, this ain’t it. Keep doing you tho- a Packers fan through and through.

I'm not saying your analysis is wrong with having the Chiefs at 5 and in tier 2. I think it definitely is but that's beside the point. The Chiefs are going to become the first team ever to win 3 straight Super Bowls, while you, as a "Football Analyst" are going to have on record predictions of you predicting them to not even MAKE the SB in all 3 years. You picked the Bills the last 2 years to make the SB, and the Chiefs/Bengals have cooked them twice. When you inevitably pick them to make the SB for a 3rd straight season, and they inevitably lose for a 3rd straight time en route to a Chiefs 3-peat, it will question your analysis abilities. The Chiefs are obviously playing by a different set of rules in the regular season, for you to not see that is insane.

Chiefs under Ravens who have lost 4 more games than them is a poor take. Chiefs' are getting judged worse for close wins than the Ravens' actual losses... These are the same teams which one is known for being way better come the playoffs whereas the other is way worse. Oh and also 1 of these teams is getting 4 impact starters into the team before the playoffs

I think Ravens are way too high. Lamar and derrick henry are really elevating an average at best roster. Its an incredible carry job by those 2 but i dont see that as being sustainable for a superbowl run. Defense wins championships and their defense is very mediocre this year. Its not just defense Justin Tucker has been a brick. If they dont get touchdowns they arent beating good teams in the playoffs Also the penalties just kill them. Linderbaum is a borderline superstar calibre center but hes also young. Getting flags or just straight up snapping the ball when lamar isnt ready. That wasnt just a one off thing this year and i remember it happening last year too. I dont think the ravens have what it takes to beat a team like the chiefs, bills, or steelers in a playoff run.

Man can we STOP doubting the Chiefs. They will WIN the Super Bowl

I would have the steelers at the same number spot, but I am not a believer in their superbowl chances. I would lower them a tier personally. I would have them at the top of Playoff Caliber.

I understand your ranking and reasoning but at what point will we punishh teams for winning and losing. Potential only goes so far. At somepoint Ws and Ls matter. KC needs to be up a tier and Ravens need to be at the bottom of the 2nd tier. I understand potential but at some point you gotta win football games and the Ravens are in danger of not even having 11 wins.

I gotta say that for once I actually want to argue a position and that's on the Packers. I think they earned a jump over the Vikings this week. They demolished a Dolphins team that was getting hot while the Vikings were the benefactor of a choke and terrible end of game management from the Cardinals. I know they beat us early in the season, but if we played the Vikings next week, I think we beat them...guess we will just have to beat Detroit instead.

The lions glazing is getting annoying TFG. Nearly lost to Texans, nearly lost to the bears. They are NOT the top team in the league.
@robe25048 күн бұрын
They are very vulnerable right now, and extremely lucky that the 49ers lost CMC, otherwise I could see them almost losing out. I struggle to see how they will beat either the Packers or Bills with that undermanned defence, and the Bears should be tough outside at Soldier Field and beat them up last season. The Lions are already in big trouble and any minor injury of the offence should make them a wild card team, if they aren't already.
