Though NW and Bats had similar "origin story"(a.k.a witnessing the violent death of their parents) the fact that both Alfred and Bruce managed to steer NW from becoming another Batman(at least in personality)... Dick Grayson is one of the highest respected superheroes in the entire community, both as a leader and a team member because of his many years working in the field, more years than most other heroes because he started so young, and the many teams he has been in and led up until this point. He’s pretty much worked with everybody successfully and he is somebody who is trusted by everyone so he is perfect to lead everyone in this time of crisis because he knows everybody’s strengths and how to apply them while also having people skills that Batman simply doesn’t. Him also never having powers is perfect for the scenario too. Batman told a young Dick Grayson that one day he would lead the justice league, and he was right :)

@@Ares99999 The main reason Batman (Bruce Wayne), trained Nightwing (1st Robin/Dick Grayson) when Dick was a child was to help him properly heal from watching the death of his parents, similar to Bruce's tragic backstory. Bruce has never properly healed from his trauma, so he's usually more heartless. If Dick didn't heal properly from his similar trauma, then he would've been another Batman or worse. If Batman took the time to properly heal his trauma then he would've been almost exactly like Nightwing. Nightwing is Batman equal in every way. Batman is just more mentally unstable. Which is why Batman is so set on no killing. Because of Bruce's childhood trauma, he could easily become a serial killer. Same with Dick.

He succeeded with Nightwing. Nightwing is who he is because he had Batman. Also, as great as he is, he isn't Batman's equal in every way. Otherwise, Batman wouldn't be the World's Greatest Detective now would he? Every member of the Batfamily has something they specialize in. No one is anyone's equal in everyway.

@@jonathandecenajr.4167 I don't know if you read the actual comics or not but it was stated multiple times that Nightwing is Batman's equal, otherwise he wouldn't trust Dick to wear the Batman cowl. When Batman and Nightwing fought in the cave, the writer stated that Bruce wasn't holding back at all against Nightwing because he acknowledged him as his equal. Nightwing won that fight by the way. Batman took Dick under him to help with his trauma and his end goal was for Dick to be a better version than him, which he succeeded. Batman is more heartless and brutal, Nightwing is not because he has properly healed from his trauma unlike Batman. Bruce himself admitted that he is a rich boy with issues, lots of issues. He is still fighting criminals with the death of his parents as his primary motivation. Dick doesn't anymore. That's what I meant by Nightwing is what Batman should be. Also even though you are right that every Robin specializes in certain areas, Nightwing still wins in the overall skill set. Read ALL of the source material before coming at me like you're the one who created Batman.

As a matter of fact, my comment overall doesn't even dispute what you say except for that and Nightwing being Batman's equal in every way. Nightwing is not everything Batman SHOULD stand for because he is ALREADY everything Batman stands for. He's the living embodiment of Batman's ideals. He's proof that Batman's crusade is right and that Nightwing himself is doing good work. But he's also not Batman's equal in every way which is what you said. No one in the Batfamily, Batman or otherwise, is anyone's equal in everyway. It's why they're all there as members of the Batfam: because they all bring something to the table.
