My guy, I had to come back to leave a comment. Your content is rich and inspiring, simple and ultra standard to say the least. You got me glued to end. Your accent, your knowledge, the setup and your vibe is just dope ngl.

Hi! What’s better RGB lights or Led with gels?
@helmar_rudolph3 күн бұрын
First video i watched here. Liked it very much. I've got a different setup. Black background with a PAR spot on it, and a 60W Dracon LED as an accessory. Key light is an Elgato Air Light, but only because it's better controllable via the Streamdeck than my large Aputure D120 with a dome and mesh. For live streams it's good enough. For passive videos I'll also use my Samsung NX1 instead of the Elgato Facecam. That said, keep up the awesome work!

Great fundamentals video! I've noticed that, in general, there is more contrast when I place the key light farther away. There are definitely trade-offs. My experience is with product photography, but I would reckon that it would be similar for lighting anything else.

Awesome! How about using a green-screen for the gradient background?
@helmar_rudolph3 күн бұрын
You could, but then you may need a purple rim light to offset the green light spill on your back/ shoulder. Looks different as you will have to light your green screen quite well, and that may impact on your appearance as well. Trial and error. 😊

thank you for the information. Now I can start thinking how to setup my office. I wanted to ask if the light that you have as the main light with the softbox is putting any strain on your eyes? I am mainly going to use that for my video conferencing time which is about 5-6 hours a day.

There's only ever one key light, hence the name. The other one is either a fill light, or, in his case, the rim light.

Dear touched by fire friend! I hope you're doing great! Gotta make you a question, do u believe the SmallRig RC60B like light can be enough as a Key light?
@reyesproductionDK4 ай бұрын
Depends on the size of the studio, but yea, you can use 60w light for key. Just not that powerful than bigger lights. A lot of people start with 60w. I did too. I just bought a SmallRig RC120B now for key.
