That adapter looked like a cpvc adapter and i see you tried to glue cpvc to pvc? and why not just use 3 pvc to pex-b adapters and then make everything out of pex-b?
@ThatPlumberDude7 күн бұрын
It was a PVC adapter. It just looked similar to cpvc coloring. I went with Pex A because of the plastic and flexibility. 🤙🏼

if by some oddball chance the fitting was made in a cpvc size on the female glue joint 3/4 cpvc would only 7/8 inch and the od of 3/4 pvc is 3/16 larger at 1 1/16th inch weve all had sloopy and tight fits but I cant think of a reason for it to be that tight if you have more of those fittings check how a 3/4 copper or cpvc pipe fits if you have any they are the same size . if you are curious why the fit is so horrible maybe become an Apollow ambasador LOL I like the fix and throwing some pex in will help nice job !
@ThatPlumberDude8 күн бұрын
Hahaha, that’s funny. Yeah I don’t know why they were such hard fits. Had to have been some sort of manufacturing problem with the batch of fittings. I debured the fitting and it still was super tight.

You can’t dryfit Pex A

16 minute im like that looks like the 73, sure enough lol. Pvc is garbage especially when it gets old and brittle.

Lol, it was! I’m on it frequently.

Why make such a project out of it mixing 3 different materials
@ThatPlumberDude7 күн бұрын
I didn’t want to put the PVC in the same stressed situation as another leak will develop. Installing the pex allows the tension to be relieved so the joint won’t blow.
@JE278986 күн бұрын
Installing an expansion loop out of PVC serves the same purpose
@ThatPlumberDude6 күн бұрын
@@JE27898 Yeah swing joints work, but it also brings the waterline closer to the slab and adds additional 90s. I try to avoid that if possible.
