go somewhere beautiful. somewhere you haven't gone before. ask a local or bartender their favorite place to smoke or to relax. sit there and stare. bring a journal. the first thing that pops in your head while staring should be written down and exhausted. get up. ask someone else. do it all over again. in a couple hours, you'll end up crying or laughing or eerily silent in your thoughts and emotions on the bank of a river or the step of a mountain. people around might think your psychotic or emotionally inspiring. spend time with yourself and stay safe my love.

and one more thing. if you decide to do this. when your thoughts snowball into a tangled mess of emotions and you'd rather not journal and just spiral, please prevent that confinement of just thinking in your head by catching just a piece of it before the pen's demise. it's like taking a picture of a bird, beautiful but fleeting. once you have that picture in your mind, start to pick at it because just like the bird it is a living, breathing form. now instead of thinking of any and every possibility, you'll only write down what's necessary and raw. nothing overprocessed or ridiculous. no conspiracies. on that paper will be real and read whatever you write over and over and over like a self-help book until you figure out what is truly bothering you and why.

Love this, and highly recommend this. I basically did a lot of what you said, been to a lot of places I haven't been before, went to a bar alone based on the hotel bartender's recommendation, walked to sacre couer alone with a journal, wrote everything down. Actually having written everything down everyday was how I was able to remember how I felt to put it across these videos. On a total side note, I've always thought myself more of a Ren than a Rachel, but that never caught on.

Wow, I'm so teary eyed right now because this is life. This is that journey that everyone talks about, that "everyone's just trying to figure it out" tip, that "when all else fails, just be" mantra. You inspire me to be alive, to feel again, to have faith in even the darkest moments. And for that I thank you. This is literally one of the best films I've seen in awhile (and yes film because vlog is an understatement), so thank you for taking time to curate and produce such a lovely work of art. I know I'm late to this video, and I never comment personally on youtube but this video hit me hard. I'm alone in Paris right now too, with my friends waking up in Montreal and Vancouver at the same time as in New York and L.A. It's hard to have yourself as company and to reflect, especially when loneliness or boredom hits. Whenever you see something beautiful, it remains beautiful but you know it would be better to have someone to share that beauty with. I will never stop romanticizing Paris, or stop feeling toute seule, but I can know that I wasn't the only one to have these thoughts in this city.
