They'll be talking about him as long as they talk about music. Someone mentioned The SteelDrivers. Check out Can You Run, which is in the bluegrass tradition of Civil War slavery songs -- a fabulous song written by Stapleton and Mike Henderson.

He said his influences were Ray Charles, Otis Redding and Freddie King. This is the most country sounding song I’ve heard him do.

It's a THING by country singers to get together and sing like this. Actually it is a countrified thing. My grandmothers family still do this in the 2000s bringing instruments and taking turns singing..

It's awesome that he just sits there chillin and killing that song that way, great reaction.

You need to check out the PBS Tiny Desk Concert series. Stapleton and his wife did several songs, all acoustic. My favorite “Whiskey and You” was one of them.

Back when he was a diamond in the rough. I heard Ray Charles in this performance.
@joeblackburn14844 жыл бұрын
Definitely has that Ray Charles feel to it. But, when he breaks down the word “use” that is a classic Jorge Jones style. That’s the great thing about him. So many gifted artist he has pulled from that bleeds into his music and he still wraps the song up leaving no doubt that it’s a Chris Stapleton song. Incredible talent.

This was done on a songwriter cruise in 2006. I think he sang 3 songs, he was fabulous back then, so suprised he was overlooked. He is so talented as a singer and songwriter, no one compares to his emotion and soul that he brings to his audience.

Helpful tip people don’t like reactors that copy what the singer sings every 3 or 4 lines. It’s annoying and has no point
