Chris Stapleton could sing the dictionary and I’d listen to it
@fiddlist19342 жыл бұрын
You know Chris is the real deal. I met him a couple of years ago at Carters Vintage in Nashville. He was trying out some different guitars and singing. It’s rare to find a guy that loves the music like he does and isn’t a stuck up (prick). He is just a regular guy that has written for other artists and also is a killer singer and player. A very tasteful no frills guitar player. I sat down in front of him. He didn’t have his stage clothes on ,just street garb. He asked me if I played and I said yes. He said go grab something and let’s jam and that’s what we did. Chris is one of a kind indeed.

Death Row. And Barely Alive. The Barely Alive video shows him take a room of probably music execs or Album pimps just eating and almost ignoring him. Cups clinking, lots of people talking over him on stage. Stapleton calmly starts to sing, then launches a vocal grenade into the crowd and the entire room as a collective just silences and tries to pick their jaws up off of the floor. Its amazing to watch this unassuming "every man" just slit their throats.

Better live. Don't want to give music industry parasites your drop dead best. Just give fans a taste of true performance to come on the road where you and Miss Amanda keep lion's share. CMA performance of COLD is prime example. And Austin City Limits session. Someday. Hopefully a long time from now, in a galaxy far, far away, when you and Miss Amanda decide that fostering your talents into your grand-babies, hopefully, is more important than recording and touring, there will be a "Best of Live" album spanning entire career. And yes, I realize there may have to be 4 versions of some songs. I also realize this will be a Multi-Disk box set. Or whatever media exists then. Probably like COMPLETE Zeppelin collection.

He’s channeling a lot of souls we thought were long dead. But here they are, flowing from one man’s voice.

I love watching Your reactions because it's like sitting with a kindred spirit, sharing our love of music. It is hard to find people who genuinely feel music as you do.

There is something about his voice, it gives me chills listening to him. Actual ASMR. His guitar playing is on point too.

Note that he is playing the opposite hand than what he usually uses and still KILLING IT! He puts as much emotion in his guitar playing as he puts in his voice. 🤗

I think that what makes Chris so incredible at whatever he does is that he is a driving force through all 'phases' of creating music and excels at all of them, which alone-- without even talking about his voice or the music itself -- is rare these days.

Great performance! Great review! Props to the bass player for providing a solid bed for the goodness layered on top.
