The most valuable thing to come out of this release is the bonus accessory of frenzy’s alt mode (the mp3 player) made in Diecast. So far the only representation of that mode that’s in scale with the others.

Human Alliance was great in concept, but not so much in execution. Found most of them save the Wreckers, Soundwave, and Sideswipe, and for the most part really intricate, and nicely detailed transformers. Bot modes are serviceable on most though the accuracy, and detail is best displayed in alt mode. Love the idea of the movie figs having figures to drive them around but the weapons integration in robot mode compromises so much about what's good. Would have loved to find Sideswipe, and Soundwave back in the day.

i have them, they are actually fun to transform, i mostly got them for Barricade, also the front lights/shoulders of it can be angled towards the head for more accuracy

Very interesting video - I bought HA Barricade when he first came out, and almost didn't bother getting the MPM version later because the HA version was so good. From my point of view, Barricade's spring-loaded gimmick is more of a problem/let-down than the weirdly-angled hips, but I don't recall having any issues with the transformation joint for the shoulders - certainly nothing like the problem you had. I missed out on the solo release of Soundwave partly due to availability in the UK, partly because the less than stellar paint job and the tiny legs were kinda off-putting (the latter reason being why I didn't get Takara's repaint). When this two-pack came out, I thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted Soundwave enough to get a second HA Barricade, and concluded that I did not. Plus, packing these two together was a really weird decision, considering they downscaled the Human Alliance line between RotF and DotM. The two vehicle modes should be much the same size, and the 'Dylan' mini-figure is smaller than Frenzy, Sam, Mikaela, Simmons, Lennox and Epps.

I don't think these two have that many partner figure interaction spots unlike say Bumblebee or Jazz Human Alliance figures. Soundwave was the only mold i never got along with Mudflap, who never got a DOTM colours release cos the twins came with Arcee and Chromia for ROTF and DOTM Skids had Elita.

MPM Barricade is way worse to transform, but if you like super complex Transformers like me, you like it. You just have to be in the mood to want to take a half hour or more to transform MPM figures lol. But yeah, Bot Mode they are meh, Vehicle mode they are great!
