Theories floating arnd: #1 Drizella is Mother Gothel's (Witch in Vic's tower) biological daughter: They both have plant-based magic #2 The dark figure (at the end of S6) killed Henry and Regina/someone else casted the dark curse to bring him back to life, somehow. Drizella doesn't want the curse to be broken so she foolproofed it- an act of true loves' kiss will make whatever thing that's making Henry alive to be void. Thus the reason why Regina is in a dilemma. Rumple comes in and offer to die so that Henry can live (The boy will be your undoing), ultimately bringing him back to Belle in the afterlife.

My theory is kind of based on the Henry /Ivy ship: Ivy casted the curse, and with Regina being tasked to keep Henry and Jacinda apart. However, Cursed Henry sort of takes 'Roni's' advice but to due some circumstances, ends up asking Ivy out. Throughout the process, Ivy starts to fall for Henry and vice versa... PLOT TWIST: Ivy's heart isn't black enough because she fell in love with Henry in the Enchanted Forest but he didn't get the mutual feelings all the way. So, she used the love she felt for Henry, and the failsafe-Henry could never love again. However, as a means to an end, Victoria makes the Witch curse Henry's lips. But when Henry declares his love for her, she kisses him and ends up in a dark sleep. The curse wheels in, taking Henry's ability to love away, but he still cares. Lucky realizes through this that not all happy endings end the way you want them and advises her dad to kiss Ivy. She awakes and the curse is lifted. So in a sense, Black Magic broke the curse with True Love's Kiss.

You know the saying that aftet you spend enough time in the dark you’ll begin to see it state back at you. Drizella is a beautiful and painful example of what happens when someone becomes so broken they no longer dream of happiness but of letting other feel their pain because they don’t know how to feel anything other than pain anymore. It’s so sad but amazing portrayal by Adelaide and the writers of OUAT.

Eveeydthing was for her own gain in the end, doesnt matter that she sacrificed her life for her, she was selfish as shit anyways.

ESCAren I think it's because she's so much like Regina. Their beginnings are so similar and Regina doesn't want Drizella to take the same path that she took in her life and she thinks that she can be better influence for her than Rumple was when she was in that same period of her life. However, if Regina was in Drizella's shoes, she might have made that exact same choice, except that she always believed and wanted her mothers love and always hoped for that possibility. Drizella learned that she would never be enough for her mother and that she would be trapped and always be trapped in her moms cold heartless control and no matter how obedient she was, she would never get the love and affection she wanted from her but was still stuck to her. She was desperate and her desperation for freedom and any kind of attention from her mom that she did what she felt she had to in order to break free and take control. Regina banished Cora to Wonderland and tried to have Hook assassinate her to keep herself emotionally free because she knew that any hope that her mom might love her would distract her from what actually went on.Drizella needed to crush her own heart (darken it) to keep herself from pain. Regina hoped for love and peace. Drizella never had any.

prettymonsterofevil Actually I would like to see her redeemed. I think it would be interesting to see how she could go trough that kind of path while keeping some of her essence. I don't want her to be fluffy and oh-so-good, kind and perfect but more like one of the good guys with an hedge in her. A bad side that, while it doesn't make her a villain or an "unpredictable" one like Rumple, it still make her different from a hero, too dark to be one. Where the good guys are white, she has so many shades on her that make her more a grey-black kind of hero... on the good side, but still Ivy. Like the kind of person that is one the good side witouth having an idealistic sense of justice. I honestly don't know how to express myself properly, both because English isn't my first language and because the concept that I have in mind isn't really easy to explain...

She has still so much to offer has a villani and actually I really would like to see her in a grey-area where she isn't a good guy yet, But nit even a villain. A moment in which she is walks both sides. I don't want to see her becoming good all of a sudden, but I would like to see her conflicted for a while. It would just make her redemption more believable and all the more important. She would still keep being a bit evil, she would just use that "evil" side of her differently... prettymonsterofevil Yeah, I know. As far as I am concerned I would like Ivy's redemption to take much longer. I would like it to start at the end of this season or the one after and for it to take much longer. Ad I said I want to see jer conficted for a while and I would like thay to last something like half of a season or even a whole one. Simply because having it happening in a couple of episodes is just inbelivable and unrealistic. I want that kind of "path" to take much longer... It will be just more meaningful when she is redeemed and be abile to see every little step she made to reach that point. The path to redemption is an interesting one but for it to nave sense and to be really interesting, it needs to take several chapters and/or seasons. It can just happen immediately.

Drizella is a sad example of how villains become what they are. They start out innocent and pure but then do bad things while finding excuses and justification for the bad things they do. After a while it gets to a point where they are no longer bothered or troubled by the bad things they do and just do them for the heck of it. Drizella ironically will end up becoming either just as bad as her mother or worse.

+TheGoldenLuna well a lot of things bother me about the show, but I still watch it irregardless of those things. On this specific issue; Idk, in the OUAT universe magick seems to be a skill rather than some genetic trait like in Marvel or even Charmed ( to name a few examples ). Hence all magick users seem to share some universal "skills" and "tricks". I'd personally prefer if they had some unique magickal talents tho, as opposed to all of them having telekinesis, teleportation powers etc. Ad nauseum. It makes them all the same tbh. If they had different abilities, besides basic skill and knowledge in using magic; like idk spells, rituals, divination, it'd make the show and character interactions more dynamic. They made Drizella a young Regina- copy, all with the purple smoke, and killer vines lol. That puts some ppl off, understandably.

Drizella and LT’s relationship is basically the symbol of being the daughter of a narcissistic mother. If theres anyone to be angry at here, its LT, shes a horrible woman. What do you expect from a child who just craved motherly love all her life but her mom could never give it? even though she sacrifices her life to save Drizella’s in the end, it doesnt mean “LT is a good person”--she is evil to her core. I think Drizella tried very hard to be a good person but she kept getting more damaged by it, Anatasia only grew up fine because she was the golden child and given the conditional love from LT who probably favored Anastasia more bc shes an easier person to control and manipulate than Drizella is.

@@soixsantes she was built up to be this big bad of the season or have some sort of important role near the end but she ended up having such a predictable “redemption arc” if you even call it an arc. season 7 overall sucked writing wise. But honestly everyone of this so called coven was pretty pointless. Like they even ruined the lore on casting the dark curse. The requirements to cast it were pretty much the only stable lore about magic but that made pretty much the evens of casting of the 2nd curse pointless af since they just apparently needed regina’s magic rather than crushing the heart that you love most. Even dark ones have to do this.

@@soixsantes exactly, basically a lamer rehash of an old classic. She kept making such a big deal about how Her and Regina’s story are different that she is darker somehow then she ends up having a half-assed “redemption story” that just gives her an excuse to bloody bail so early on.
