While I agree that the process is fascinating, you have to accept that we don't NEED this thing. Modern materials are pure enough that folding only gets us steel with lower carbon content- thus an even more softer swords, katanas are already damn soft comparitively. Don't get me wrong, I have big respect for Ilya for going through this and his obvious skill.
@toffee05
@toffee05 4 жыл бұрын
@@anirudhdiwakar987 Swords these days hold only little value in real battles now. Many consider it now as more of a form of art. That’s why straying away from the actual process would “tarnish” that art. Especially because this is Japanese culture, something that’s been passed down for generations.

@@toffee05 Hmm...I get what you are saying. The price of swords these days reflects how they were made. The inherent value is different regardless of the performance itself. Particularly Ilyas use of tamahagane, knowledge of how to make it, knowledge of stacking, his use of traditional materials to make the stack etc etc would be highly appreciated by a traditionalist. Fantastic work and I commend you for your effort as that was no easy task. I am willing to bet that your swords put others to shame as yours are no replicas, they are the real deal. Your understanding of the idea behind the sword and the creation of a sword soul alone proves you deserve the right to make them. The sheer patience this man has is out of this world. All the time and effort has put in to make such a remarkable sword absolutely insane. If no one has said it, this guy deserves millions upon millions of likes and even more views.

Oh my god the black and red aesthetic is just fricking amazing, and let alone the very well made sword it self. Tanjiro's sword is the coolest sword in the anime in my opinion. Thanks so much for this video, this is very satisfying.

My brother and I just watched through the build, spent a bit of time talking about how much more craftsmanship and information focused the videos got after the branch off. This one in particular stood out though. Probably one of the best build videos on the platform that I've seen, maybe in general.
