Thank you for your insight! But, everyone has different skin and reactions. You have to kinda just test it out to see. I’ve heard with my family that witch hazel is great for skincare. It just depends on how your skin reacts ☺️ I’m sensitive to certain skin care (like clean&clear) with strong ingredients they put it, it’s nice to use a natural skincare line.
@kay5944

honestly I’ve been usingThayer’s for like 3-4 years and I didn’t really have any reaction mentioned. I heard that it wasn’t too popular and I was so confused. I watched many videos and I feel like it really didn’t leave anything on me and had benefits instead. I might be less sensitive to witch hazel but this is just my own experience with witch hazel.

Actually witch hazel is usually distilled in alcohol which is very bad for the skin but dont worry Thayers one is distilled in water But witch hazel in genral can be very striping of oil

I've been using this product for almost a year, it helped my face to slowly eradicate acne breakouts. I never had bad encounters from using it. Maybe it varies from skin type that we have. I personally have combination to oily skin.

This definitely helped with my breakouts as well with my crazy oily skin. I unfortunately also have super sensitive skin though so that could be why I experienced such a reaction. I really still love the product, my skin however isn't a fan 😭

I have been using Thayers ALCOHOL FREE TONER for about 4 years and it has cleared my hormonal acne. Also, I have combination skin with eczema and it has helped my redness on my chin. I think that if it works for your skin, then use it. Dont knock it until you try it. Also, the big thing is making sure the toner has no alcohol. I rather using natural stuff like with hazel then paying a bunch of money for chemical peels etc.

I purchased this product 4-5 months ago and for a month now I’ve been trying to figure out why my skin has become so incredibly dry. Within this past month I have purchased so many hydrating facial cleansers and moisturizers and nothing was working! I have pretty normal skin and I purchased this product because I heard so much good things about it. I decided to do some extensive research to see if anyone was having problems with this product or was I just overthinking it. I’m so glad I stumbled across your video because this gave me so much clarity as to why my face is in the current state that it is in. It’s the only thing it could be because all of my other products I use have never done this before and I’ve been using the same products for years. I will be throwing this out immediately and going back to my old toner mist. Don’t believe the hype and please stick to what work best for you is the lesson I learned.

This vid made me subscribe. First time I see you and seem so true and honest. Love how nice and genuine you come across. Thanks for teaching me how to use witch hazel literally just bought that product yesterday in a rush and regreted it. But I remember using this when my skin was at its best. So I’ll just have to use it very minimally and then wash off EVERY time. For two days in the week to stay safe. I agree, I used to be really red out the shower but never knew why. Ahhhhhh!!!! 💕💕

I'm glad I'd found videos like this one and Dr dray's before I started having bad reactions to witch hazel. I still use it, and it works great for when I do use it, it's great at degreasing while not being so intense that it can't be used after acne treatments like benzoyl peroxide; I only use it on occasion like a spot treatment, rinse it off after a min or two, use only when my my skin is extremely oily, only use the Thayers brand, (and once I run out of the scented one I'd bought, I'll only buy the unscented, as I'm not wasteful but it was an oopsie). Just be responsible when using strong products like witch hazel and if it doesn't work for you than don't try and make it work because others like it, actually this goes for just about everything in life

Sensitive, oily, mixed, dry skin needs moisturizers. Even toner is a moisturizer and provides hydration. It is better for the skin. Exfoliants soothe the skin with the same strong exfoliants. If a light and gentle exfoliant gives sweet skin.

I saw Thayer's on an ad & I was thinking about buying the facial cleanser & toner but the comments are making me very skeptical. I purchased an age defying set but realized it didn't do anything to actually cleanse my face. Plus I was putting garnier's no rinse micellar water which made my skin break out even more. The breakout I currently have resembles a heat rash. I have no idea what to try to clear it & I've never worn make up before.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your insights and thoughts on using a skin toners. So, like you, I was curious if it's beneficial for our skin to use the same product on a consistent basis. I've found that our skin chemistry is not meant to use the same product on a recurring basis. Our skin PH levels does change periodically. Continuing to implement different products along with taking breaks can help with having clear skin. 🙂

I just took this step out of my routine. I've been doing research and a lot of articles and youtube videos I've come across tend to say toner is an unnecessary step, I feel like my skin has been doing sooooo much better without toners. Definitely take a break from the toner for a week or so to see how your skin responds. It took my skin about a week for it to fully calm down.

I would definitely say try witch hazel if u haven’t before.. it definitely helped combat oily skin and large pores which is why I loved it. Recently my skin has started tingling almost burning when I apply it. I’ve used it for 3.5 years but my skin hates it now. My skin is not sensitive or prone to breakouts. So the same as she says. It’s good at first. But you’re going to have to take a break from it sooner or later especially if you’re using every day.

Great for use on body as well. Really helps with acne and makes skin lighter and brighter. I use the thayers every now and then, mostly as a refresh in the day or right after i shower instead of using the acv toner. Acv toner: use braggs brand acv and pure filtered water. Mix one part acv to two parts water. Apply to skin with cotton pad.

Ok so question for you: how in the world do you always know when a product causes issues or helps you?? You seem to always be able to pinpoint the skincare or makeup product that causes breakouts or sensitivity. I just slather my face with whatever and pray for the best lol. I've had acne since elementary school but only got into skincare for real about 5 years ago, I know my skin has dramatically improved but I can't pick out a single item and say "this helps my breakouts". Anyways, I used Thayers Witch Hazel for 3 or 4 years and never noticed a difference but kept using it since the ingredients sounded good. I stopped around February because I finished a bottle and didn't want to repurchase since I don't think it does anything for me. Do you watch Beauty Within? Ever since I watched a period skincare video from them I've been paying attention to how my skin looks based on where I'm at in my cycle and I'm trying to follow a routine based on my hormones lol. I think it'd be a really cool video idea for you if you're interested. You basically stick to certain ingredients different stages of your cycle to prevent acne. The video was called "what does your period really say about your skin". Def recommend!!
@EmeliaKate
@EmeliaKate 4 жыл бұрын
It has taken me years to figure out which products affect my skin. I still struggle with it from time to time as you can see it's taken me 2 years to figure this one out! But it also helps when i document my progress everyday and then go and edit the video. I also tend to just stop using products for a week to see if my skin changes as well. I have watched that Beauty Within video which I find very fascinating. Ever since I've gone on birth control though I find that when I do have my time of month my acne actually clears up, which makes me wonder if the dose of birth control im on is too much or too little. It's something I'm still experimenting with.

Thayers has fragrance. And if you have sensitive skin NEVER use fragrance. Also, you obviously have acne prone skin which once again fragrance is never good. I would reccomend using Paula's Choice Salicylic acid and add a product that contains Bisabolol. One last reccomendation, start slugging now and than at night to build up your barrier again.

I patch tested this on my wrist before using it on my face and it was fine. I used it on my face last night and it stung so bad immediately and I got some red bumps. I'm so annoyed because I literally just bought it 😭
@SDGunfighter

If it stings its because you need to rest on products for a week or so because you have destroyed your barrier somehow either with over exfoliation etc. I would suggest slugging at night and you should be good to go in just days. Good luck

Please please don’t use hot showers. PLEASEEE. So bad for your skin. Lukewarm water only. And they don’t need to be long. My showers are literally 7 minutes long and that’s with lathering my hair twice. Naturally I turn the water off while I wash the hair. Please guys be more environmentally conscious.

I completely agree with you! There was a time when I only took warm showers, but I've been taking hotter showers to help manage my stress, which I know is not a good excuse for my poor skin 😕 I'm definitely trying to get back into it though!
