To be fair, there's not really any solid definition of where the lines are drawn between the USA's regions or even what those regions _are,_ and even when there are conventions, they change depending on the context. For example, in my experience, Kentucky is in the West if you're talking to a historian, the South/Midwest if you're talking to a political scientist, and the Midwest/Central if you're talking to an economist. Having said that, yeah, we Dumb-ericans deserve pretty much all the contempt sent our way, and yeah, the current election cycle has certainly proven that it's impossible to underestimate the intelligence of the American public.
