Thank you, Dr. Heyne, for creating these videos. The truths and principles you provide go hand in hand with my 12 step recovery work, and are helping me see the value of the holistic approach to healing and good health as a human being. Truly, thank you.

I believe that conventional and alternative medicines need to work together in most cases for the patient to get the ultimate remedy for whatever they are suffering from

Dr Alex...I can 150% relate to the woman's story. I did not go on antidepressants and have gone on alternative medicine. It has been working for me and minimal symptoms after 3 months no panic attacks and less anxiety. I am putting the word out please do not go on antidepressants it is awful. Also OM chanting does miracles. I can assure that.

Spiritual medicine and Western medicine are two approaches to healthcare that differ in their underlying philosophies and treatment methods. While Western medicine focuses primarily on physical symptoms and the use of drugs and surgery to treat illness, spiritual medicine takes a more holistic approach, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person's health. Both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately, the most effective approach to healthcare will depend on the individual needs and beliefs of each patient. Western medicine is based on the scientific method, and relies on evidence-based practices to diagnose and treat illness. It is highly effective at treating acute conditions, such as infections and injuries, and has made tremendous advances in the treatment of chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease. Western medicine can be limited in its ability to address the emotional and spiritual aspects of a patient's health, and can sometimes focus too much on treating symptoms rather than addressing the underlying causes of illness. Spiritual medicine, on the other hand, takes a more holistic approach to healthcare, addressing not only physical symptoms, but also emotional and spiritual imbalances that may contribute to illness. Spiritual medicine may include practices such as meditation, prayer, and energy healing, and may be particularly effective at treating chronic conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. However, spiritual medicine can sometimes be viewed as unscientific or even quackery by those who adhere strictly to Western medical practices. Ultimately, the most effective approach to healthcare will depend on the individual needs and beliefs of each patient. Some patients may find that Western medicine is best suited to their needs, while others may prefer a more holistic approach that addresses the spiritual and emotional aspects of their health. In some cases, a combination of both Western and spiritual medicine may be most effective. It is important for healthcare providers to be open to different approaches to healthcare, and to work with their patients to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs and beliefs. By incorporating spiritual medicine into their practice, Western healthcare providers can provide a more holistic and patient-centered approach to care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of their patients' health.

I agree with you. I am a TCM medical student and while I fully appreciate the holistic approach to Dx and Tx chronic disease, TCM practitioners need to acknowledge that Western medicine has its strengths that need to be used. A good example is a bacterial infection through contracting group A Streptococcus. It needs Western drugs that compromise the bacterial cell wall and inhibit further colonization. When I become a TCM Doctor, I would refer my patient with this bacteria to an MD/DO to get antibiotics and give herbs to help with the Sx's and efficacy of the antibiotic. What irritates me is when TCM physicians are incompetent in biomedical knowledge and can't even explain how someone cathces a cold. There's nothing wrong with giving the TCM explanation, its vital to know it, but they should also understand the basic pathophysiology of diseases. Thankfully, more and more TCM Medical Schools are requiring 3 years of Western biomedicine courses into their curricula such as pathology, pharmacology, western internal medicine (w/ surgery topics covered), and hospital rotations. TCM medicine is integrative medicine, not strictly "natural medicine". TCM is beautiful because it incorporates Western and eastern medicine, but such marriage is only possible when the TCM physician has strong knowledge of both.

I would disagree that western medicine is successful in treating cancer more people are getting cancer. Also, yes it is good for emergencies like a car crash or a gun shot wound or even a heart attack. But western medicine fails in many many many areas. Scientific and its method is a product of Western civilization just like classical music and its do re mi fa so method. People think that by using rap or country they are steering away from western classical but they both use solfege so yes it's western just like science and the scientific method.

The question: how does one know it wasn’t mostly the 3 months and the passage of time that contributed the most in your patient’s well being?

In my experience, time in and of itself does not heal anything. It’s what you do with the time that counts. That’s why you see so many who, years later are still holding anger over something that happened, or still reacting to a fear caused by past trauma. These feelings are stored in the body’s tissues and energy system, causing many of the chronic diseases we see today. Emotional (and physical) healing requires active participation. 🙏🏽

These therapies are not for everyone. There are certain times where this may help but for many, the conventional way to healing is best.

and their lifespan would be shorten under conventional medicine, and no, there is no healing in that. Modern medicine is all about managing and suppressing symptoms.
