Wonderful advice from a very different perspective, definitely can help people with "stage fright" or knowing what to expect between practice and performance.

That's exactly what happens to me. I can play things at home. But when I go to the music store I sound like a beginner.

A good idea is to play a lot of diffferent licks ,scales, and arpeggios and then repeat. It takes longer but you learn more .Then you can play the lick you are working on in between a bunch of other licks so that you can play it off the bat.

One thing I was hoping for was (for those who perform on a regular basis) to practice standing up...muscle memory needs to be developed for that as well🤘🏽😉

also alot of the pros have a chaotic aspect already within them, eddie van halen would make a ton of what you call "mistakes" but would just bend crazier or whale on his whammy bar so you think hes just going crazy, aslong as your ear is good you can really account for and readjust in almost all situations.

The moment I hear a metronome clicking away I break into a cold sweat and freeze up

Keep practicing with a metronome. It'll become your greatest friend.

Petit’s price to pay for an error would result in death, us guitarists worse case is people won’t like what you play. Talk about being fearless. Literally, you should talk about being fearless
