Hey Brian--thank you so much for putting this interview together--I really enjoyed learning about their protein leverage hypothesis and will be checking out the book next! Keep up the good fight!

There is a flaw in their studies. All of the chow combos they've used on bugs and mice have PUFA in them. In the book, which I loved, the problem is that they say several times that fat makes an animal fat and that PUFAs oils are the healthy ones. Check interviews with Tucker Goodrich and see what thoughts you have. The protein leverage part of their book is fantastic and I think they are excellent scientists in general. But the fats just keep getting all lumped together. It's ironic that they are the ones separating the protein, fat, and carbs from general "calories in, calories out", but then don't separate the fats.

How about having the original carnivore bodybuilder on? 🤔

Yeah I can see how potato chips or a buttered baked potato could hijack the body's need for protein since the potato is ranked at the very top of high satiety foods despite not being very high in protein content.

Didn’t they feed rats Crisco oil in a high-fat, low-carb study on longevity? If so, the results showing shorter rat life spans might be questionable because Crisco oil is a highly processed fat and doesn’t occur naturally.

Brian, i challenge you to find someone with the same view points as all your guests, that are believers in Jesus Christ. Believing we do not come from apes! But created in the image and likeness of God. Otherwise very good podcast. And i thank you for all your hard work!

i mean Jesus Christ of Nazarene, now back to the challenge!@@trukar oh by the way i am not made in the image and likeness of an alien, and i doubt neither are you!

You are no different than all the dogmatic diet-heart hypothesis believers. It takes willful ignorance in 2024 to deny basic evidence that in fact humans are descendent from apes, and that chimpanzees are our closest living cousin. Too much religion is seriously not good for the human brain.

I've read a lot of really good books on this topic, and I always have to take it with a grain of salt when they start talking about how we "evolved"...lol...I feel you on this one!

Great channel !! Hopefully Netflix or Amazon picks up your series soon ! Can’t wait ❤ I’ve watched hundreds maybe thousands of hours of videos on : nutrition videos, epigenetics, genetics, obesity, various food linked diseases , of course excercise and I started off on keto , went vegetarian low carb (no starchy vegetables , rice, pasta , bread etc) for 3 years now I’m back eating chicken breast and lean beef 🥩because to much digestion issues and lack of energy 😅.. totally agree on your video about the dogma of diets and how confusing it can get with all the camps , it really does become cult like !! Luckily my personality is to question everything and never be set in ways regarding life and science 🧬 really interesting hearing about the locusts !! That’s why I love nutrition and science there’s always something to learn !!

I don't think we (or dogs) get sick and fat from bad food alone. Our environment, with artificial lights and fucked up circadian rhythms, plastics and other chemicals, radiation and things like that contribute just as much.

That stuff is certainly also bad, but it is mainly diet. Dr. Weston Price figured this out 100 years ago before we had all that stuff. The populations that didn’t have the modern foods were extremely healthy. As soon as the modern foods came in they got sick rapidly.
