Dont do it this way ppl, its very obvious on the second spread that King is missing. Eather dont do spread after the stick to the King, or mix the thirteen cards so they are not in order, or have a double King on top, one with X and the one on top clean. Or the best thing Id actually do is this. Do the X on the whole deck but one card. Leave the clean card on top and take the cards out of the box. Now ask the spectators to show several cards while you spread them in the deck face up. Outjog the selected cards. You can do whatever, arround ten cards. While slipping the outjogged card you just take the bottom one along them, as in Marlos halo cut. That way youll also have the correct number of cards in the end, since you seal one more and add to the pile. In this occasion I would count the cards so the spectators are aware how many cards they had choosen, so in the end when revealing the Xs on all cards you can also count, thus in non dirrect manner point out that same ammount of cards are on table. If the spectator chooses that clean card also great, no need for sleight, you wont be able tpo do the count part though in this case. You now explain the bet and actually turn the slug of cards toward yourself with backs and tell them youll actually draw now the X on the back of one. You can easily mimic that, no need for explanation. They will not see which one you picked because you do several false cuts or whatever, but the card you are drawing is on top, they cant see the face. You can even say here, a little help, you know the X will not be on the card they see on the bottom of the pack. Now do again some mixing cutting whatever face up but you know which card is clean and put the one on top. Let them choose. Reveal. If they actually choose the clean one great, you have a miracle.

Good day, Magician Owen! Another question I have,what if in this trick, we use the double lift, or even the double sided tape, and the spectator asks to hold and go through the cards themselves? - Aadya
@oscar3 жыл бұрын
Good day! You can use a double lift - its just less clean than double sided tape. And if the spectator asks to see the cards, you need to be confident and say 'yes once the trick is over'; then just show them some of the ungimmicked cards and move on.

But on eliminating one card from the deck of 13 there should be 12 cards remaining but since we remove two cards , the audience can clearly see that only 11 cards remain instead of 12
@dowaliby12 жыл бұрын
It's a fair point, but I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. The magician says that he has cards ranging from ace through king. Very few people, if any, are going to think to themselves, "OK, so that means he has 13 cards" it is highly unlikely that someone will do a calculation in their head to conclude that there are 13 cards. There is simply no reason they would have to do that. And then when the backs of all the other cards are revealed at the end, they are shown, but the magician isn't counting. But if someone is still concerned about the unlikely event that a spectator might count the cards when the backs are revealed at the end, I would suggest simply casually spreading them on the table to reveal the X's, rather than displaying each one individually. Then I would gather them up fairly quickly, so that even in the unlikely events somebody decided to count the cards on the table they would not have time to actually count them. Also, as another commenter (Don) pointed out, it might be better to just use 13 or more random cards instead of all the clubs in sequence.

Fantastic trick! I’m confused by one thing though. If Oscar had 13 cards (including the King), and one other card was stuck to the King, how was he able to show 12 other cards with Xs on them? Wouldn’t there only be 11 other cards to show?

@Musikpunx2 жыл бұрын
Here is an idea how to make this trick even a magicians fooler. When displaying all the non selection cards, do it as if you were using the Olram Move. Then, depending on how polite they are, either spread out the cards or let them grab the cards.

Oscar, wouldn't be better to use 13 random cards as opposed to all clubs running in sequence? in case they would notice the king missing if they wanted to see the cards face up at the end, which is what i would ask, or better yet use half the deck and really blow their shit away................just saying. ps. you have the best presentation on you tube bar none.

This was always one of my favorite packet tricks too! The reaction you get from spectators is truly incredible and it really does hit them pretty hard EDIT: I wanted to add this though now that I'm thinking about it, when I do this trick just to be safe I have 1 additional card of the same suit with an X on it in my pocket, the value doesn't matter, I palm it and add it to the packet before I start showing the Xs on the back so if you have an observant spectator they'll count 12 cards with Xs instead of 11
