Welcome to our Korean Alphabet series! In this first lesson, we, Korean teacher Hyunok Jang and Korean Learner Gerhard, guide you through your first step when learning Hangeul, the 10 basic Korean vowels.
The basic vowels are the first letters and the basis of the Korean alphabet. The Korean alphabet is called Hangeul or Hangul and is written 한글 in Korean. 한글 is not as difficult as it looks at first. Before you start learning Korean, you should definitely learn the alphabet.
If you follow all the 8 steps in this playlist, you will master the Korean Alphabet in two weeks, with about half an hour of practice per day.

About The Korean Alphabet Hangeul:
Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, was invented by King Sejong in the 15th century to improve literacy. It's unique, logical, and easy to learn, making it the perfect starting point for anyone beginning their Korean language journey.
When learning a foreign language, you have to actively speak. Therefore, you should not just listen but always repeat along! Practicing pronunciation and stroke order is key to mastering the Korean letters. By the end of this lesson, you'll have a solid foundation in the basic Korean vowels.
