I would want to point things out the video misses. 1: You do not have to have your character as a general to get the first trait on the list. 2: Crusader can be lost by attacking fellow Christian after the crusade. 3: Strong, if I remember correctly, also give a Fertility bonus that is not mentioned.

@@AlzaboHD Another factor missed, the ruler must have the Sea Raider feature enabled. Altaic chars who simply run around on horses wont become vikings. If you reform as Hellenic and raid christians you also wont get viking unless you have raiding and sea thing enabled for the religion. It's a nice perk but tough to get unless you're viking.

Ran with a queen after picking primogenitor in Ireland. Ended up getting master seductress by cheating on three husbands (and killed them when they got too angry) and sexing up quite a few bishops and half the rulers of ireland. Ended up with 10 kids. lol

seducer is overrated imo. youre bound to get syphiliis until the event fires that gives you seductress (its almost useless for men anway) so you basically need to join satanists to be safe which will give you bad traits and lock you out of other more useful societies. and then theres the fact you need to seduce multiple people and can get pregnant from them, yea seducer isnt that good really.

Immortal has ability to commit suicide same as depressed. In the tooltip it says something like: i am tired of eternal life...." and than you end it. But probably keeping it for 200 years will make any character godtier anyways.

Rulers get events that bump their stats though I had a ruler who started with like 10 martial he became immortal and now its like 40 because of event and artifacts (basically stole thor's hammer). You literally just have to put on a lifestyle you want to increase a stat (like stewardship) and over time that stat will increase. I've done plenty of times with non-immortal characters with one its practically cheating.

Just a small advice. NEVER put genius children on Tough education. There is a chance that Genius is downgraded to Quick with that specific focus.

This gives them a chance to gain some traits that later on can evolve into something else, either good or bad. The two martial educations you can choose are "tough" and "duty".

yeah, the bad "loony" events make you lose 50 prestige and some piety. I guess the bad thing about loony negative events are Glitterhoof (unless you want the Horse/dont care about your chancellor) and the fact that each AWOOOOOOOO-event clogs up your screen and must be clicked away xd

I think that the trait "attractive" should be on this list, as it gives you +30 attraction opinion. If you are playing as an attractive woman, almost every male (and by extension, vast majority of all landed characters) in the world will have a positive opinion of you.

A couple of things: Shrewd can't be combined with Genius since Genius children can't obtain Curious. Also Struggle is a pretty bad focus for a primary heir since Rowdy has a chance of developing into Dull which is terrible, or Uncouth which can be annoying. Love to see more CK2 content though!

Shrewd can be combined with Genius if you are a child of Satan. Nevertheless, I have to disagree with the Struggle. Struggle can develop into Dull, but I find it very rare (and I use struggle quite a lot). If you want to obtain a military education, it's a must-have, since pride education sucks. Uncouth is not a problem, since that's mere -10 attraction opinion. You can still seduce and produce babies with that. But I actually hardly encounter dull. Can't say I never have, but it's very rare, since my children tend to catch willful more often than rowdy.

A thing I have found is that in the 1066 starting date, you can invite “Veronica” if you give a gold, who is a courtier in Foix, and has the genius trait, if your king starts unmarried and without an heir, or if you have an unmarried heir.

I always like to settle an ambitious adventurer on my borders, so they take land for me. Only do this when you have at least 3x his army size, otherwise he will be able to overthrow you.

Giant is a surprisingly good trait. If you have it along with the Strong trait, you have a chance to get an event that grants you the Brawny trait. It's practically a weaker Strong trait, but it also gives you +1 to health, mitigating the downside that Giant gives you. The -20% to fertility also isn't that bad, seeing how easy it is to get the Lustful trait. There is one downside I can see with the Giant trait, and that's the chance to get giantism, which further lowers your health. This is a pretty rare event line, however, so I wouldn't really worry about it too much.

@Hego Damask Well, if you don't care at all about Iron Man, you can use the character creator to have your character receive the Giant trait. It's -7 points. You can give yourself 0.50 points in health to mitigate the downside and have 2 points leftover. It's practically a bargain. You could also give yourself the Strong trait as well. Within five years, give or take, during your incestuous reign, having both traits will give you an event to get the Brawny trait. It's so overpoweredly broken.

I know they're not strictly traits, but the pagan lodges are extremely OP. On hero level you can't be killed in battle, which is just bonkers. And since you can also just berserk your way out of prison if you're captured you essentially become unstoppable with the right military traits. In addition to being unkillable, berserker also randomly increases the martial skill. My personal record is 76 martial for an 80 year old berserker, which is by far the highest I've ever achieved. Add 250 personal combat to that and you have a rather unpleasant individual for the AI to deal with. My second best was 44 knowledge with a Hermetic ruler. On the other hand, diligent shouldn't be on the list, I think, for the same reason patient shouldn't: the traits can be lost, and usually are. They are the stat equivalent of stressed and more annoying than anything. Not sure if you've gone that route, but the three progressive traits if you reform pagans into human sacrificers are pretty amazing. The mass sacrifice ability also stacks rather well with the lodge stuff. I had an army of 6000 wiped out by 28 000 HRE troops and the center with my ruler was at 100% morale when it simply disappeared. Ruler was fine of course, since he was indomitable. Pagans are OP!

Regarding immortality, the "ruled too long" opinion malus is almost irrelevant, it caps at, I believe, -7, which is outweighed by the "long rule" opinion bonus, so you'll probably have no problems dealing with vassals

I just got the Immortal trait on what was going to be a throwaway character from a count in spain in the 764 start date. He father was part of the Hermetic League or whatever the smart people society is, married her off to the King of France and when he died, she got to come back to rule the county for some reason. With no legitimate heir since they were all Frankish, decided to make her a Maga. The immortality event fired and having failed it so many times before, decided what the hell and went for it. It succeeds. She was immortal, the king of west Francia (now HRE) was her son and decided to ally me. Got my independence from the Spanish guys in that start date, joined the HRE and now am 'Empress' yet only controlling 2 duchies and going to conquer Spain and become independent at some point to be her Immortal Empress. God I love CK2

Going for the genetic traits just feels too random, and kind of forces you to go for elective monarchy if you want to have the genius kid as your heir. It's way more reliable to get unions that give good alliance, and handle the education of the potential heirs so they don't end up with terrible traits.

I think you're wrong about the content trait obtainable through the duty childhood focus, since it only makes children diligent (with guardian intervention) and either just or temperate, but might also become stressed. I think it's the humility childhood focus that makes children content upon reaching adulthood (more likely if educator is content as well).

I once play a Norse Warlord doing a personal quest thing to challenge all worthy opponents he see on his quest. I got mod that make duel take into account your combat modifier and not a random dice roll. Then he got seriously wounded and I check what the hell happen. Turn out he duel a polar bear who is also a duke in Byzantine. Though on the bright side, he manage to kill the bear.

It's not really a trait but the wolf blood is really good you get 2 health 1 martial some pc and new events which I got diligent lustful and 3 martial from its a really good modifier which is transferred genetically so you can keep it forever

I think it is pretty straight forward. You send your spymaster to a developed province with an advanced technology you need. You also have your councillors reaserch tech and always invest in events that give you points. Reaserch tech for your main holding (if you are feudal go for keeps and castles, not cities). Regarding the military go for logistics and upgrades regarding your levy composition. For cultural go for those which allow laws you need :)
