Very comprehensive and well presented. $40 each for the last 2 extensions is a bit steep. Yes they are good but you have to be using them a lot. Then again, I'd probably use a different modeller for SubD. Amazing it can be done within Sketchup though.

I suppose it depends - personally I don't think it's that much considering it's adding a whole new functionality to SketchUp and is much faster than doing that complex modeling manually. That said, I agree - if I was going to do a LOT of subdivision and vertex modeling, I'd probably jump over to Blender - not due to the cost of the extensions, but because you also gain a lot of UV mapping functionality

@@Thesketchupessentials exactly. Still, modelling in the Sketchup environment is quick and straight forward. I use it a lot for making STL files to print as well as plans for woodworking. Are the models made with these vertex modelling tools generally sold as a result or need tweaking or fixing before export as good STL files? Thanks again for the run-down of the extensions, I already used a few but have found other options now. Which is great.

1:53 Work around is to: have two objects ungrouped. Select one of them and place it intersecting the other. Then R. click selected object and chose "Intersect Faces". Now just delete unwanted parts. Good if you don't have PRO.

My sandbox tools do not include one for a grid. Smoove, stamp, drape detail and flip edge are the only ones there. Do I have to buy the $15 version to get functionality?

I'm not aware of a $15 sandbox tools extension. The built-in sandbox tools should include a grid tool

Like it - it's got a lot of the functions of Vertex Tools and SubD in a single extension. I do find the gizmo in Vertex tools a bit easier to use though

Cool tools! The only issue is when I have large sandbox grids, manipulating it is very slow and can even freeze sketchup. Any idea on how to mitigate this? I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X CPU, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU, and 16GB of ram so hopefully it is not a bottleneck with my hardware.

Don't create such large grids? It's not a hardware problem, but likely a software limitation

But I'm facing a new issue in SketchUp Pro 2021 for some days What happens is when I create something and use "Pan mode", SketchUp pauses and everything gets stuck and pan mode appears on cursor and I can't even close the program Please help me. Nearly 100% extensions in past couple of months :-\ you've made fabulous tutorials, mainly core SketchUp, interspersed with extensions, now it's other way round

@@JohnColgan. Don't know what to tell you - I make the videos that are interesting to me at the time. I have a course that's pretty much all core SketchUp if it's that big of a deal to you. I will continue to cover a lot of extensions in the future because I find them interesting though

Awesome! looks like blender? haha, anyway, sketchup user here :D Is there any plugin, that in parallel projection mode in skt, allows you to draw lines witouth matching random axis? For ex. If you draw a 45º line betwen red/green axis,extrude a face, and match the view to the plane, the lines you draw on it, match the main axis, and lines go wherever they want

It's shameful that the full functionality of Solid Tools is locked off in Sketchup Pro. They're basic boolean operations that are pretty boilerplate for any drafting software and not all of us can afford a subscription.
