GDevelop is pretty great. Glad it exists and I love how very user-friendly it is. These extensions are game-changers in my eyes. One extension I would like to see (if it doesn't already exist somewhere) is an extension that lets you access the camera on a mobile device and then turn that image into an object in the game. This would be great for Pokemon Go/ Jurassic Park Dino capture-type games.

Probably not the right place to ask such question: it is possible to animate an 'entity' using multiple spritesheets for the same animation? f.e. when you move horizontally the legs 'section' of the 'entity' will use a separated spritesheet from the other body parts of the same 'entity'. I'm very thankful for those tutorials and guides, a great engine becoming greater thanks to his community

You could make two objects and use an event to position one on top of the other.(I think there is a extension as well that does something similar) This is how the gun works in the top down game shown in this video. -Wesley

hello, i need help. I'm a gdevelop user that just started about a week ago, today i was using develop and piskel, just broke. when i try to use it, it takes me to this weird piskel remake that you cant draw on, and half of the buttons dong even work. i love using gdevelop, and in the future i hope to continue, but this glitch stops me from animating sprites, witch breaks the game. i hope to have help soon.

is there some extension to create a hexagonal grids, movement and pathfinding for a turn based strategy, or do I have to create my own conditions?

There is an extension for hex grids, and you might be able to use the pathfinding behavior with that to get the sort of movement you're looking for. I've never done it before though, so I'm not sure how well that would work. 🤔 You'd still need to create your own turn and distance events for it though. 👍 -Wesley

question about extensions. I have seen some videos when making player change animations when buttons are pressed, some used the behabior one and others did it manually (when button is pressed, character animation change. Can the behavior be edited such as ducking and looking up or this needs to be done seperetaly in events?

Yeah, extensions can be edited by anyone. The interface is a little different for extensions, but you can modify any extension you have installed in your game in your extension list by right clicking on it and opening that extension. 👍 -Wesley

Can an extension be created of "Rectangular Movement" but instead of a rectangle you can draw a path and the enemy follows that path line. When it reaches the end point it goes back to the beginning of the line, but if you decide to connect the start and end of that path it'll loop.

This extension would be the most useful for everyone who wants to create a scripted enemy event where it can move freely around (even thought it might be in straight lines) patrolling in complex areas also it can create new gameplay mechanics such as stealth or even in a boss fight with complex movements to dodge attacks, and even if you're new to the software it'll be easier to create a scripted chase where you want your enemy to be precisely somewhere on screen anyway that's my opinion

If you use the advanced platformer extension, the jump button you'd use for a normal platformer game will work for wall jumping as well. -Wesley

It's a bit too niche to make a whole video for, maybe a short. But after you install the extension, you use the action "snap to grid" to have the object snap to a grid using the numbers you put in for the action. You can use that with the draggable behavior, or your own movements to keep the object snapped to that grid. Hope that helps. -Wesley

Can I ask a "stupid" question?. If the creators wanted, could GDEV export for older systems like the mighty Amiga, ZX Spectrum, etc?. That would be super, super cool.

There are no stupid questions.😅 The answer currently is no though, GDevelop can't export to those systems. It's "technically" possible, but it would require a lot of work to add an alternative export and compiler internally that builds the game into a format readable by these machines. -Wesley
