Just wanted to say thanks. Recently got back into road biking and got a great deal on an Enve Melee with Ses 4.5 Wheels and SRAM Force AXS + Powermeter. Yep. No one should pay 12k or more for that. So I paid half. I am in love with that bike. It’s probably way too good for my current skill level (recent zone 2 rides were like 25kmh for 35 km) but damn. It’s so good. I was torn between the Colnago C68 and the Pinarello Dogma. Once you ride the Dogma, its game over. Add a set of Campagnolo Bora WTO and a Super Record EPS group and it is the Ferrari of bikes. Fast, smooth, technically magnificent and beautifully constructed. Nothing rides like a Dogma or sounds like a Ferrari. Its why these brands sell at a higher price. They are worth it.

I had the Scott Foil Rc pro 2023 and regret selling it for the Madone gen 7 🥲 Foil was just faster on the flats, only downside was the weight for climbing but compared to my Madone now..a 200g +- difference is actually negligible. My gravel bike says 45 but realistically I can get on 48s with room…on my Supersix EVO i can put on 35s on they work fine, and currently running 32s on very wide wheels measuring out to almost 33 for a Cadillac ride in the bumpy Bay Area downhills.

@@bikemike1118 You are wrong. 1. Threaded bb limit tyre clearance at the rear wheel, unless you're willing to widen the axle. 2. PF bb is lighter! 3. PF is stiffer!! 4. In PF there is no need to co-mould metal inserts into bb area. 5. The issue isn't press-fit - the issue is manufacturing tolerances on the frames.
@bikemike111827 күн бұрын
@ what you consider „better“ I consider inferior! Lighter it is… yes, a few minor gramme…not important! Stiffer? Who told you that? …Probably your bike dealer. LOL If you have a metal frame there is NO need to „co-mould“ anything! In point 5 you are a bit right. BUT: the clicking noise and squeaking is very likely to come …sooner or later. And good luck in pressing a new bb in a carbon frame . Your frame can be damaged for good. But if you think these very few grams are „worth“ the hassle and the need to possibly replacing your frame…then good luck! The advantage no 1 is for the manufacturers who still hold on to pressfit: it’s cheaper! And that’s the most important reason. The other „advantages“ … few grams less, stiffer ..are just BS on the road and only for brochure believers! There you have it.
