Joker from Persona 3 Reload's Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC was several times harder than Elizabeth; he has more HP, more hidden rules and it takes a lot of grinding, farming and persona fine-tuning to even stand a chance. You're also at the mercy of luck which many players can attest to.

I stopped throwing my controllers back with original PS, when I realize you have to come out of pocket for a new one. Just punch a pillow. Im still tryimg to beat Raven off and on between other games. Ive come close a few times but end up playing something else i got in my backlog. Bloodborne had me rage quitting back when it came out but I platniumed it.

Agreed, and both of the final bosses push poor design in different ways. Providence is just straight up bs, and the Elder Naytiba has blatant input reads for healing when the game was pretty fair about that prior, for example

i think the most fun fights in stellar blade were the human ones...tachy was fairly easy but satisfying af and ravens human form was challenging...elder and providence not so much

In Stellar blade, the dfficulty spike with Raven is huge! She's a beast. You have to learn the timings to block her barrages of attacks! But she's still fun to fight.

I barely made it on the 5th or 6th attempt against her on standard difficulty, went through a lot of bosses mentioned in this video including FF, Black Myth, Prince of Persia and more and nothing come even close to her.

Those last 5 bosses (Democrawler, Unidentifed Naytiba, Raven, Providence, Elder Naytiba) are absolutely insane. If you haven't gotten the combat down before reaching Democrawler you are absolutely going to struggle. As mentioned, Raven in particular will shred you with her varying swings and combo timings, in addition to AOEs combined with sudden lunges as you recover from a dodge (or attempt to heal).

I honestly think Erlang Shen was the one I struggled the most with but it was because he basically had a regenerating invincibility bar and on Ng+3 he became impossible.

Since you included optional battles, I’m surprised you didn’t pick some of the optional from FF7 Rebirth. Odin, or when you have to fight the multiple summons again before fighting Gilgamesh, or even Gilgamesh himself. Idk, I think those were way more challenging than Sephiroth

VR Sephiroth man… the first fight I was ever afraid of in any game. I’d borderline want to hurl my controller every time I was tagged with shadow chains. I’d get goosebumps, my teeth would chatter, I’d feel sick when I’d reach him. Was soooooo happy when I finally beat him. Honestly every fight in the gauntlet leading up to VR Sephiroth was probably harder than final boss Sephiroth. But Gilgamesh on the other hand was a hard but suuuuuuper fun and enjoyable fight, he was my favorite boss of the whole year. I had a huge smile the whole time. I let him kill me when I first saw the ‘Excali-poor’ cutscene, I was laughing too hard. Took me like 15 attempts, a REALLY good boss.

Personally, Orod wasn't the toughest for me from PoP: LC (although he was challenging), that honor goes to Menolias. Nothing quite teaches you the value of parrying like having a boss using it to shave off chunks of your HP, if not outright kill you over and over again.

The fight against Sephiroth was incredibly cool and I did die a couple times, but it wasn't the hardest in the game. I'd give that title to Odin with Rufus as the runner up.

So many really hard fights! VR Sephiroth (not final boss) was the hardest by a MILE I thought Then there’s the VR fights against the gods (where they get new abilities), the duo VR fights against the gods (easier but there’s two of them), final boss Jenova/Sephiroth, Rufus, Red Dragon, brawler Sephiroth, the undead king guy, like any fight they throw a King Zu in… there were some HARD fights on hard. Loved them though! Awesome fights. VR Sephiroth felt too hard but the rest were great. I loved the final fights against the gods when you have Sephiroth or Zach on your team. The new moves are crazy, like Odin freezing time in half the arena.

All these bosses were pretty challenging. But all under an hour to overcome. Radahn took me about 4, but also the most memorable boss fight in gaming since Owl Father.

Number one goes to: the broke sage shell phase two…. If you thought it was easy then I urge you to do it in NG+3… even radhan is on the same level

I’ve honestly up to NG+5 (I kept missing items I needed for platinum) he’s not that bad. He’s definitely the hardest guy in the game and scales the most, but he wasn’t that bad. Depends on your build I think, a few times I beat stone monkey and great sage in one go. I will say the ox king armor or whatever it is is a trap, don’t use it against great sage. The nerf to dodging screws uou over in that fight immensely, way more than other fights.

I’ve played all these bosses (besides Kazuya) and I think the number 1 is EASILY VR Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Shadow chains requires you to identify he’s casting it, who he’s targeting, swap to that character, figure out if he’s doing the ranged or melee variant, then perfect parry it. If you fail the character he hits is frozen the rest of the fight. You aren’t beating him down a character. That character cannot be revived or healed or unfrozen or anything. VR Sephiroth will do this move every three or so attacks. It’s constant. And you only have like a second to perfect parry with the right character. He also has a pretty much insta kill borderline undodgeable aoe, and in his second phase he starts absorbing magic from you and does one shot magic nukes after a bit. Also if you lose to him you need to restart a gauntlet filled with other extremely hard bosses (and I mean extremely hard, they’re tougher than most other guys on this list, including the FF7 final boss pick) that takes about 30 minutes to beat. VR Sephiroth was the first boss I EVER played that had my teeth chattering in fear. I was so so so nervous about getting hit once with shadow chains, because just one minuscule error and you get hit you might as well restart. Don’t realize he’s casting it? Swap to wrong character? Parry too early because you thought he was doing ranged version? Too bad, go refight other god bosses for a half hour and work your way back. CRAZY hard. Like pre patch Consort Radahn he was in the ‘I’m not enjoying this fight’ category. Best fight in FF7 Rebirth who was also really hard was Gilgamesh. He was suuuuuper enjoyable and wasn’t remotely as unforgiving. Still has a lot of crazy combos and debuffs and one shots but it’s FUN. Took me 15 attempts at about 15 minutes each.

The only bad thing about Stellar Blade is the mechanic where you have to shoot down the insta kill orbs quickly. I don't know who thought it would be fun on controller, but they were very very wrong.

All the Souls series bosses are so hard because of how limited your character is. You really have to test your patience and ability to recognize enemy patterns to win, instead of relying on your own reaction time. It's... punishing, to say the least.

Or you can make a good build and like 3 shot like 90% of bosses I’ve done 4 playthroughs, each time I just focus on one stat (strength, arcane, int, faith) and bosses die so fast. I’ve honestly yet to see what Morgott or Maliketh’s moves are, they’ve died each playthrough before being able to attack. DLC was great because the devs knew everyone would have strong endgame builds so they put in some tanky bosses that don’t go down to like 2 dragon breaths or charged greatsword hits. (Minus the Scadutree Avatar, I one shotted him all three phases with magma lol)

2. His AI is also supernatural as it studies how you fight during the battle and adapts according. Any of your spells will only work on him ONCE. If you like to abuse them, then he'll learn your spells and use them against you. He can also dodge your focus attacks if you're using them too often. So you have only a split second to react after his attack if you wanna nail him with one.

Erlang was definitely tough but idk. Personally I had a harder time with the great sages shell and his cheeky little moves he pulls. The fact that most of the skills you’ve used through the entire game become useless in that fight is what separates the boys from the men.

I mean… how’d you do against Malenia lol Did you lose 500 times or did you beat her in 5? Feel like souls bosses vary crazy in how hard people find them. Some people can’t get past waterfowl dance, others staggerlock her and win easy. For me (Malenia takes about 5-15 attempts a run) I think about half these bosses are harder half are easier (never fought Kazuya) but if you bump it up to ‘hard’ or higher most of these bosses are a lot harder than Malenia.

i beat erlang first try. idk what it is about black myth wukong that let me breeze through it. you know how some bosses skill check certain players flaws in their game, its hilarious that wandering wight beat me more times than any other boss lmfao! once i got into the groove and understood the game, i got through decently fast. i mightve gotten lucky with Erlang but i think its just wukong itself. i think its a game that might just encourage things im good at. lord knows ive gotten beaten a million times in other action rpgs because im not that good.

I first tried him! Did you fight the dragons beforehand? They felt waaaaay harder, they all took me 10-15 attempts (besides the final one I first tried him). I’ve seen a few people kill Louis in like 3 attacks, I guess you can stack physical damage insanely high or something. I wasn’t doing anything like that, but he still felt way easier than the dragons. (That being said if you skipped all the bosses before Louis he gets a super powerful secret boss form that’s VASTLY harder, I didn’t fight that)
