What's up, fight fans!?!? Thanks for watching! I just wanted to touch on Stipe Miocic not being on the list as I see a few of you mentioned him. @@wikz8480 Because the UFC never wanted him as their Heavyweight champion, let alone be the greatest in company history. They deliberately underpromoted him in the hopes he'd be dethroned by a popular fighter who was also a company man like Daniel Cormier. Unfortunately for Stipe and his devoted fanbase, DC pulled off the upset and just like that the UFC was already down to promote the next fight between DC and Brock Lesnar for the belt conveniently forgetting Stipe even existed. Ultimately the Lesnar fight fell through, DC snuck in a defence against Derrick Lewis and the UFC had no choice but to book the rematch between DC and Stipe, which Stipe won of course after a hard-fought battle. But the story didn't end there, DC wanted an immediate rematch himself so they booked the trilogy which Stipe also won after another hard-fought battle. The UFC is vindictive and petty towards fighters who don't tow the promotional line. Stipe is one of those, and the promotion will cheat them out of an appropriate salary and superstardom leading to them being underappreciated by the casual fanbase. A similar thing is happening with Francis Ngannou, which is funny because he was the monster Dana White and the UFC helped create.

This is my favorite video that this channel has put out so far. There are a lot of "armchair critics" who hop on KZbin, Reddit, Facebook, and other social media to give their "professional analysis" of fighters. There are also fans who are quick to ditch a fighter when the fighter hits a snag, like in such cases: Ben Askren's loss to Jorge Masvidal, both of Ronda Rousey's career losses, Anderson Silva's antics catching up to him, etc. That being said, I'm glad this video put Amanda Nunes in a better light. She had pulled out of at least one fight, and otherwise I didn't know much about her as a fighter or her accomplishments. Yet, having them shown here really makes her stand out in a much better light than most casual fans would say. She is literally the glue that holds together the "what if" on the Rousey vs Cyborg dream match, having defeated both of them but being forever tied to their career history. All of the rest of the fighters in this video also had a strong case for each of them. The fans of this channel need a sequel! Maybe, give it 2-5 years or so, as the sport is continuing to evolve and hype trains continue to build and derail. Also, insert meme here: Chael never lost a round, most concrete fighter!

Bas and Frank really are forgotten by the newer fans because so many don't realize UFC wasn't the first, or best, MMA organization of the time. If you really want to see what these guys were about just watch their 2nd fight. And if you really want some perspective on how ahead of their time they were just watch some of the other fights of the era and you will see how most fighters were much more one dimensional.

Wait what? Randy Couture is the only fighter to win back his champion title. What about Stipe and Namajunas and Jones?
@madgavin75683 жыл бұрын
I think what he meant was that Randy was the only fighter to win back his title in an immediate rematch. Between Randy getting his belt back against Vitor and recently Figgy against Moreno, believe it or not every champion lost the immediate rematch. And yes while Stipe did get his belt back, the rematch wasn't technically immediate because DC snuck in a short notice title defence against Derrick Lewis. And yes Stipe did deserve to belong on this list, I'd argue in place of Amanda Nunes because her (baffling) loss to Pena is a blemish. Rose is still building her legacy, when its all said and done I think her career will be regarded as a successful one and she'll go down as one of the WMMA greats. Jones though has tarnished his legacy by thrice failing drug tests like a drug cheat and his countless transgressions outside the cage.

@madgavin75683 жыл бұрын
It doesn't make her legacy void, but its a blemish that will hang over her for the rest of her career. Not because it happened, but the way it happened. You couldn't get a more embarrassing loss as champ then that, it also was a bad look for WMMA because of how sloppy the exchanges were. Its much worse then when Anderson Silva got KO'd while taunting, as at least Silva won many fights before while taunting.

Yes he had the (Mexican) chin and recovery to take his best shots, but he was getting knocked down several times and that affected the judges decision. I don't think Khabib belongs with the other fighters here. He got down in the gutter with MacGregor - putting a stain on the sport's credibility - and retired before hammering out a legacy comparable to the other fighters here. I like and admire the man, and I don't really hold the above against him as a fighter or a human being, but he doesn't have a "concrete legacy" like the others here. There's just too much "what could have been" and "that's unfortunate" to put his legacy up there with GSP and Demetrius Johnson.
@abishekarun73423 жыл бұрын
completely agree. don't know how they put him ahead of the likes of DJ and Aldo.
@madgavin75683 жыл бұрын
Don't blame Khabib for getting agitated by Conor's awful trash talk and clownish antics. Also at the end of the day he was undefeated at the highest level which counts for something, and utterly dominant in his prime. His legacy at face value may not compare to what GSP and other champs did based on defences, but the dominance and undefeated status makes him special in that regard. Don't fall for the toxic haters who are trying to tear down his legacy at every opportunity, those people don't listen to reason.
