The Numemon variants I've already come up with names (unofficially) for. The white one is "Alnumemon". From albino. The teal version is Icenumemon. The dark blue... Malnumeon. From malice. The tan variety is coined... Dirtnuemon. The last one colored red... Volcanumemon. From volcanic/volcano. What do you think Karn? Am I onto something here? Maybe get Toei/Bandai on the phone/email for?

Along the lines of "Implied existence," there are Beatmon, Irismon, Megatheriumon, Sphinxmon and Troiamon. Yes, I bring up the missing modern variants of the other half of the Warrior Ten. If A. Garurumon, A. Greymon, A. Mermaidmon, A. Volcamon and A. Wisemon have a "modern" variant, why not the other five?

9:12 The funny thing about that black Areo Veedramon is that there is a Veedramon (Black) Hyper Coliseum card. That single card is the only time this variant ever appeared. The gold variant is all over the place, the red variant reappeared in Next Order and Master Veedramon has yet to return but that's probably because there's no real visual distinction far as I am aware, it just has a different sprite.

I remember that in Digimon World 3 you could also find white Whamon when diving using Submarimon. And a white Whamon is mentioned in Hookmon's official profile, so I guess the differently colored digimon in the game are presumed to be canon. Hell, even Hookmon himself has a different color in DW3 that hasn't been shown anywhere else.

I think the reason Numemon are used so often as enemy variants (along with Goblimon) is that they're analogous to the low-level slimes (and Goblins) you;d fight in RPGs. BTW, Wikimon has asterisks next to the DW3 NPC roster in reference to the enemy colour variants.

What i really like about learning about obscure digimon is that many of them have the individuality to be main characters in a digimon storu, whether it's a comedy series featuring the various numemons and other recolour digimon, or a story about various ocupational digimon, pirate black war greymon, santa agumon, agumon hakase, terriermn assistant, holyagemon priest mode, digimon that could very easily be slotted into a story without digimon in them to spice them up, for example, you could have a main character who's motivation is not lknowing how he wants to raise his digimon, and so he goes to meet the variious ocupational digimon, and their partners.

Maybe because I’m a digimon frontier fan but it always had a place in my heart after learning about it. On a point you made, when I first played Digimon World 1 way back in the day, before tinterweb was all that much of a thing, I always thought the wild Digimon you encountered were jus pallet swaps of Digimon we were already familiar with, whether to save money or give us something like what we knew but, as the names showed, not quite! I didn't realise they were actually their own species with their own lines! Imagine my surprise in 2020, picking up on all that Digimon Lore, I uncovered the truth about Tsukaimon and Psychemon! I was shocked! And, speaking of obscure, a recent video I saw covering a playthrough of Digimon World 1, I commented how I never realised that the building on the left screen in Toy Town was shaped like ExTyrannomon and how it'd clearly been some time since I played the game that I'd forgot about Tinmon found in a building on the right screen! (Okay, that belongs with Housemon under "forgotten" more than obscure, but as far as I know, wasn't it only named Housemon in the Manga adaptation of Digimon Adventure 01?) 2:46 I want those notes...

I am proud to know about the Bond of Friends Motorcycle Mode Change. I remember being shocked when I found it while doing research on it. I'm still shocked it's not used in any art or anything besides that one little pic you have to scroll or get lucky on a search to see. Though I will say Nat-Chan sounds more like D-Repaer than a Digimon. Especially Fake Jeri's transformation into a hybrid of features. It would be a been a killer idea for a TV movie or halloween special. Shame they didn't act on it.

I will always consider the Accels to be criminally underutilized in the franchise for how cool they were. IIRC, box lore indicated (or at least suggested) you were actually revving the digicore of your Digimon. And since blast modes occurred at a specific RPM for each 'mon, I always assumed it was supposed to be like tuning the speed to peak efficiency or something. But... nothing says there wasn't some X-antibody-like "DNA" or code that was only activated by resonating at that particular speed.

So the Blast Modes you did forget one! Beelzemon BM isnt the only one with art now, as we've gotten Erlangmon BM thanks to New Century! Didn't know 7 or 6, but knew a few recolors from 5 thanks to DT2! Didn't know 4 or 3! Pirate B-WarGreymon is really neat! Would love to see a proper redesign for this, like Gaioumon! Recently learned about #2 which caught me off guard while researching the digimon. Nat-Chan didn't know about them either! Good video!!

Sort of, but sadly the context of the CD drama is that it's part of a comedic sketch they're performing so sadly it's basically confirmed Agunimon was always Agunimon and never Okunimon. It's the same as the Adventure CD Drama Armor forms that aren't real Digimon and more like imagined parody Armors. I WISH he used to be Okunimon though!

Don't know if I missed a video where you had mentioned them before, but I'll posit my favorite obscure trio of Digimon (that said, they do have Wikimon pages, sparse as they are, so probably not the same level of obscurity as this actual list. Lycamon, Hermon, and Panimon, the scrapped trio from V-tamer. They show up as background enemies in Neo's army, and were planned to have a battle against Dominimon, Regulumon, and Omnimon; but it got cut for time constraints.

There are several Digimon (Hookmon, Shamamon, IceDevimon, Meteormon, etc.) that have more than one coloration to have been considered their "main" one in different media. If even those aren't considered distinct forms, the recolors from the games that had lots of no-new-name recolors probably don't have a chance. Especially Meteormon, who's notable for being almost exactly the same color as Icemon in the anime, card game, and Digimon Story games, but almost exactly the same color as Gotsumon in Digimon World games (with the resemblance to Gotsumon even being part of a puzzle in Next Order).

My pick is Generamon, who was the second-place winner of the Digimon category of the second Digimon Web Dot-art Contest in 2000, submitted by Kanno Rikiya. To date, it has never appeared in any official Digimon media, but the sprite looks so interesting. It has a sword, and its name of Generamon makes me think of a war general. My preferred evolution would be a Darcmon evolution, since Generamon is a Perfect/Ultimate level. Mostly though, I just really wanted to see whatever it is so i can understand how in the world GrandGeneramon even shares part of its name with it. An pre-evolved form of that Dark Merger? Could GrandGeneramon be a Dark Evolution of Generamon, or some UltimateChaosmon level mutation? The thoughts sends shivers down my spine!

Oh yeah, the reason I picked it is because we only have a dot sprite for it right now, one that's not even in color. Only reason I even found it is because I was looking up GrandGeneramon and just shortened it because I was sure there wasn't a Generamon. Neat surprise!
